Hello--I'm new on here. I just read some of the messages on this board and decided to stop in. I can hardly believe I need to lose 100lbs! I weigh almost as much as I did post-baby...nine years ago!!! In 1999/2000, I lost 80lbs (via Herbalife and 11+ hours of gym time per week) only to plateau for 6 months at 170lbs and, as a result, I got frustrated and gained 40 of the pounds back. My weight held there for a a few years but I was still getting 4 or so hours of exercise in, so I lived with it. A yucky break-up (goddess! why can't I be original?) resulted in my not exercising and consistantly making bad food choices and...well, here I am--back up to 240lbs. Once, while I was working with a trainer, he told me that my body might never want to dip far below 170 or 160, but I feel like 140 is REALLY where I should be. Right now, of course, my goal for the next bit of time is 200lbs. If I can just get back to that point, most of my clothes will fit and I will be able to kick butt in step-class again. I would love to hear any health tips from you guys. Thanx for reading my whiny tale and thanx for just being here. I hope to get to know some of you during my journey. Good luck all!!!! skye

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I'm not sure why it is so important to know my story has been read, but it is. I'm not actually one of the fair Celts...the name "Skye" was a character name (Skye the Bard) of mine once upon a time and now, in addition to being my handle, it is my name in spiritual circles.

I have a few friends in WW and they seem to think it is the way to go. My only problem with it is..well, it seems silly but...the local chapter is made up of people who, for the most part, need to loose less than 50 lbs. I doubt it would work for me if I always felt the "odd man out." I guess I should be stronger than that, huh? skye

Hi and welcome here, Skye (: I like that you're setting small, attainable goals instead of starting out with a huge one. That's what I'm doing these days, too. And if your tale wasn't whiny (;

Hi Skye and welcome. I am quite new as well but unfortunately not new to the weight loss adventure. Like you I lost 65 pounds 5 years ago and I have managed to gain that and about 20 extra. So I am starting over and trying to learn from my mistakes. My only advice would be to believe in yourself. You can do this and we will all be here to help in whatever way we can along the way.
