I teach first grade, so I know exactly what you mean! Can I suggest that you don't do the "normal" Valentine celebration? Here's what I mean: For our Winter Celebration right before break in December, I sent home letters to the parents stating that we would not be having a traditional snackfest. Instead, I assigned each child to bring something healthy. We had a great time eating cheese cubes, string cheese, unsweetened applesauce, 100% fruit juice, pretzels and graham crackers! My kids had a blast! We have been doing this great program called Color Me Healthy at school and we teach our students about healthy food choices, so they were ecstatic to get to try it out! I know I'll be getting some chocolates tomorrow and yes, I will eat them. However, I am going to limit myself and stay active. You can do this:)

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
Im thinking about joining my son's Vday party tomorrow at school.
Suggestion.....
If you were to make the cupcakes from scratch you could replace the sugar with Splenda. I don't think that would hurt the kids, And then you could have a cup cake without to much of a cheat.
I don't know what type of diet you are following. Hope that helps.

I hear you and I completely understand. I dread the bags of candy my kids will be bringing into the house today but I want to pass on a little "trick" someone told me a few years ago and it really works. Imagine your temptation, whatever that may be, and then imagine it after it was stomped into the ground, covered with mud, looking absolutely disgusting. One lady even said she imagined her dog licking it and then she wouldn't go near it for nothing. Trust me, it makes it alot easier to avoid if you look at it differently. Right now, we look at it as not only temptation but also comfort. So dig into yourself girl and imagine your temptations as nothing you need and definitely nothing you'd want. Remember nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. Lets stay strong together. :)
