Several people have asked about getting started. I thought it might be helpful if we each posted a daily menu. Not only will it be good for new people, but it might also keep others(like me) menu from getting stale. Please put what plan you are following.
I am doing a low fat/good carb type diet.
Breakfast:Scrambled egg(cooked with pam) with mushrooms and tomatos
1 piece of whole wheat toast, I can't believe its not butter spray
Coffee
Snack:Low fat plain yogurt with strawberries and splenda
Lunch:Tuna on a top of a salad and Low fat Italian Salad dressing. I like the flavored Lemon tuna from chicken of the sea. It comes in little pouches.
~~or~~ Bagged salad with grilled Chicken- I like the kind that comes already prepared.
Snack~Apple or pear
Dinner~Italian Chicken pasta toss (5 pts for you weight watcher fans)
Salad or another Vegi
Dessert~ Sugar free Jello
Italian Chicken Pasta toss~
6 cups bow tie pasta( I use whole wheat)
2 med. tomatoes seeded and chopped
1 small onion chopped'
1 med zucchini sliced
1 sm red bell pepper cut into strips
2 garlic cloves pressed
1/2 pound of chicken breast cut into strips
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning
1/4 cup fresh parm. cheese grated
Cook pasta and keep warm
Chop all vegies
Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Press garlic, add chicken.
Stir fry
add onion zucchini, red bell pepper, peas, and seasoning stir fry 2 minutes
add tomatoes-stir fry 2 more minutes
remove from heat and stir in pasta
garnish with parm cheese
6 servings
315 calories with 5 grams of fat each
