Tips for dealing with AM overeating

Can anyone offer some tips on how they get through the early AM hours without overeating? Every night when I go to bed, I think about how I'm going to get up early and exercise, and how it's going to be a great day for my eating also....

But then I wake up and go to the fridge for a drink and see leftovers and start munching. Today, it was the pizza that my husband ordered for lunch yesterday. I just reached into the pizza box and pulled out a slice and started eating it...cold. Just gobbled it right up. After I ate it, I thought, "Oh No...I can't believe I just did that!" At that point, I just wonder if I should call it a wasted day and start again the next day, or if I should just stay on plan the rest of the day and try to forget the morning slip-up. LOL!

Does anyone have any tips for me?

Hi Pat,

First of all, don't let it ruin your whole day!

Late night eating is my downfall...

I would suggest that you don't cook too much; then, in that way you won't have left overs.
Plus if you do have left overs freeze them. That way you can't just reach in there and eat them.

You'd had to nuke them to thaw them...and maybe in the few minutes that it takes to do that you will have had enough time to come to your senses.

I decided that this time I wasn't going to let myself give up again. It's too easy. LOL!

Instead, I avoided my normal breakfast, figuring the pizza slice had enough calories to get me through till lunch. I had a very healthy lunch, and I exercised (aerobics) for 30 minutes. That's the first time I've exercised in a long long time, and surprisingly, it felt good! Hopefully I burned some of that fat from that extra-cheese pizza slice off. LOL! :-D Tonight, I plan to have a bowl of Campbells Healthy Request Soup and a nice salad. :-D

I'll be so proud of myself when I finish this day without giving up. I'm just going to have to take it one-day-at-a-time for awhile to get into the swing of things again. :-D

Thanks for the help and encouragement. :-D

Good job on not giving up. Put the pizza or whatever is tempting you in a sealed tupperware container. It is too easy just to reach into a pizza box, but if you can't see it you will be less likely to grab it. For a while I didn't have time to eat breakfast so I would just grab the first thing I saw. Instead I started buying the diet breakfast drinks and bars. I would eat that first thing in the morning and then around 10:00 I would have a light breakfast type snack. ( I get up between 5 and 6 so I really need that snack.) Hope this helps. sharla

Pat

I know what you mean about wanting to see the 200's again. I currenlty weigh 298 but I feel it is still too close to the three-zee's. I cheated really bad the last 2 days as I have been down in my back and at the mercy of whoever brings me whatever to eat.
