What does everyone drink during the day?

I'm setting a goal to drink more water each day...but for now, most of what I drink comes from caffeine-free diet sodas. I've read somewhere that drinking diet sodas can increase your appetite. Has anyone else heard the same?

So what does everyone drink during the day? water? flavored water? juices?

I'd like to have some ideas to help me kick the diet soda habit. :-D

Hi I am a lurker here but I thought I would tell you what I do to add flavor to my water. I use lemon juice in my water so it does not taste so plain. I also love coffee and the caffiene suppresses my appetite.

Shawna...

What fat free latte do you get at StarBucks? I love StarBucks but don't go there often these days as it is so fatting or full of carbs.

I know the Americana is what I should drink for low carb...I was just wondering what exactly you drank.

Hey Pat :) I drink water. Yep, just water. Plain ol' water ;p How do I do it? Well, when I go to the store I just don't buy any thing to drink. I'm a college student on a very very small budget so that helps because well.. water is basically free! After you buy a filter and what not that is. Occasionally I'll buy tea bags or cranberry, apple, or orange juice if I feel I need some vitamins or whatever from them.. but thats only once in a while.

Good luck with the change! In high school I drank soda all of the time and thats when I decided to cut it out of my life.. mainly what I would do is still get "Bottled" drinks but try to get ones that weren't carbonated - like if they had fruit drinks or gatorade available at the machines.. Then the thing is after not drinking carbonated drinks for so long.. it is really hard to do it again.. it sort've "burns" when you do it so its a lot easier to stay away from them.. as if they're too "strong" to handle.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks for all the tips! :-D I am finishing up my very last diet coke in the house at this moment. We have water coolers both upstairs and downstairs in our home (the type that take the 5 gallon water jugs and can give hot or cold water), so my goal is to just stick to those from now on. If I don't buy any more sodas, I can't drink them. LOL! :-D

I know I can do this, but it's just going to be a struggle at first. When I lost my weight last time, with Weight Watchers, I used to drink 2 gallons of water a day. I remember everyone in my meetings thinking I was a little nuts for drinking that much water, but I really enjoyed it. I lost weight faster, and my complexion looked clearer. It's just time for me to redevelop that habit. :-D

Wish me luck! :-D

I am a bad, bad,bad diet coke Junkie. I have given up so much else I feel that Diet coke is my one vice. I also drink skim milk, tea(hot and iced) water and coffee. I try to stay away from juices. They have a lot of calories and little nutritional value. One thing I do try to do is to make diet coke my reward if I drink water throughout the day.
