I'm a 22 year old female and I weigh 280 pounds, I have always been big but not this big. first I started gaining weight when i was 10, i was always way bigger than my peers in school. I was like 250 like two months ago and now I am at 280, I dont know why i'm having such rapid weight gain, does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? I eat healthy and I watch what I intake, but it seems to not help. I know that I'm nearly not active enough, does anyone have any good workout tips? could this be a thyroid problem or pcos? I want to lose 150 pounds can anyone help me? should i see a doctor? can anyone help me with some tips or advice?

please help me
thanks
crystin

I agree with Shawna. A Dr. is the only one who can tell you if you have a medical condition that is making you gain weight. I will say that exercise has made a huge difference with me. If you are not very active that could be your problem. good luck. sharla

Hey Crystin,

My name is Lauren and I'm 21...I'll be 22 in September and I know exactly how you feel. My highest was about 265 and within the past couple of yrs, I've gotten it down a little. I started here at 246 and started the south beach diet as well, approx 10 days ago. First and foremost, see that doctor. You should always see one before starting a diet plan anyway. Personally, south beach is working well for me. I've lost 12 pounds in the first week and half--mostly water im sure--but it does show how much sugar was in my diet! The weight loss is slowing down, but the cravings are also gone. At such a young age, we have a chance to get healthy and not have the health problems that others have already developed. So if you ever need to chat let me know. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Jade

Yes, you are so right about having age on your side. I am 53 and do wish I had gotten my stuff together at a younger age. I have lost tons of weight over the years but have never been successful at keeping it off. Good luck to both of you and remember the older you get the harder it is to lose weight!!
