Julie,
Maybe Atkins just isn't right for you. I personally have never tried it, but I chose not to start it because I love my breads and pastas too much, lol! I don't like being on a "diet" because it just makes me feel restricted. What about just watching your calorie and fat intake? I am doing weight watchers because I need to understand portion size. However, I don't feel like I'm on a "diet". I can still eat what I want, just not in huge portions like I used to do. I think just being on something that "controls" the foods you eat is frustrating you. Also, make sure you are active. Take the boys out and let loose. I take my son with me walking and he looks so forward to that time. I never would have imagined that, but he loves it! I hope you find something that works for you and keep up the great work. You have done something right, you've lost 18 lbs. already! Just keep in mind how great you are going to feel! I was really frustrated when I gained a pound. Now, I'm not going to weigh myself until next Monday! I can't stand to be dissappointed again. I know what you are feeling. If I don't see the pounds melt off in a month, I'm ready to quit. You are a strong woman and you can do this!

Hugs,
Theresa

Hugs to you.

BTDT and I'll tell you the exact same thing I told another poster:

I don't know how to say this any other way than to just say it, so I'm going to - I hope I don't step on anyone's toes.

In my experience, the key to losing the weight and keeping it off is adopting a lifestyle that you can live with every day for the rest of your life.

((((Please don't give up)))))

I was horrified that day when I went to the doctor and she told me I weighed 312 pounds!!!

Just like me you need to lose that weight! We could shorten our lives by not losing it!

Post affirmations on your bath room mirror, get a subliminal tape on losing weight, get up and go for a walk, buy a Joyce Meyers tape on weight loss; do something, anything for motivation!

I am telling you I have helped pick out so many caskets in the last two years that I don't want to have anyone do it for me!

What about it is annoying you? Do you need more variety? Recipes abound on the net. Do you miss carbs? Pushing through one day at a time might allow you to get over the possible "hump." I know that when I went one it, my body reacted violently within 10 days and I had to quite. If your body seems to be okay with it (even when your mind says "EAT BREAD!") trying to stick to it may be your best option. Perhaps some other low-carb dieters in here could offer you some yummy snack options that might distract you? I'm not sure I am helping you...I just want you to know that we hear you. skye

You can do it!

My 4 year old notices a difference between me now and me when she was a baby ~ silly things like I can run faster than she does now, we can share a chair without *extra mommy hanging off*, I don't get out of breath when walking up the stairs, stuff like that.

Those are the things that really *hit home* ~ much more so than smaller clothes.

There are some health & wellness tools on my website if you're looking for some positive reinforcement (let me know if this link doesn't work):
