Just curious, What do you do for weight training and for how long do you do it? I am looking for something I can do at home that doesn't need a lot of equipment. I have a basic set of 5,8,and 10 pound weights. Thanks.

I find varying simple upper body and lower body work outs to try and do. I have this "Natural Healing" book that has a set up of a weekly schedule with weigh training. Basically Monday you do upper body workouts, Tuesday is lower body, Wednesday is day off, then Thursday Upper body again, Friday Lower body.
It's hard to explain the movements without pictures but I'm sure you could do a search on ivillage for "upper body weight training" or "lower body weight training". I'm using ediets.com for free through the Discovery Health challenge as well, and they also give a day by day weigh training set up with pictures.
http://www.ediets.com/myfitness/ex_images/ex19.gif can you see that? Probably not :( There's such exercises as the Dumbell Chest press, Dumbbell Bent Over Rear Delt Raise, Dumbbell Two Arm Lateral Raise, Dumbbell Alternating Biceps Curl - look those up anywhere to find some examples. Usually I do 10-15 on each arm of each one with a 10 pounds dumbbell.
Hope that helps! :)
oh, heck yeah!
i weight train every day, with daily cardio workouts. upper body 2x a week, lower body 2x a week, core 2x a week. i do it all in the privacy of my home, because it's just REALLY difficult going to the gym. i'm shy and embarrassed and feel as tho everyone's staring at the fat dummy. it took me about a month when i first started to figure out what to do and when, but i get an efitness.com email every day from 3 weight trainers that detail, with li'l animated gifs, how to do each exercise and how often.
once i started doing what they suggested, i started surfing the web, looking for more weight training help geared to overweight women. it wasn't too long before i could do some of those exercises and started to feel a difference. i use 5 & 10 lbs weights, with LOTS of repetitions. i don't want bulging muscles, just strong, lean ones.
combined with healthy eating habits, weight training and LOTS of cardio really and truly works. and it doesn't require much more than tenacity, a couple of small handweights and a pair of comfy shoes.
