stupid candy!!!

I've been making some very positive changes lately...drinking a TON of water, and (almost) daily exercise...the thing that's thwarting my weight loss efforts? FOOD, especially candy...the past few days have been bad regarding my eating habits...sure, I've thrown in some low-fat dairy and fruit in addition to grains and lean meat, but it's like I can't help myself from eating the candy, partly because I'm bored (not necessarily hungry) and partly because I know how good it tastes...I've tried eating just a serving size, and I do, but then I go back for more later because of the above reasons and also because my brain (or is it my fat cells?) tells me that it's okay to eat more because I exercised...I don't think it's rational to stay away from candy forever, but I would like to be able to just stop at a couple pieces instead of binging...does anyone have ideas? Thanks...

HI Lori
I have the same problem, like today I baked a chocolate cake and I had to through what was left after everybody had some away so I could quit eating it. I try not to keep candy in my house, then even if you buy a candy bar at the store when you get home its gone and you can't go back for more. I have tried to stop buying my kids candy for snacks and stared getting them healthy snacks, so I am not tempted to eat the candy. It is also healthier for the whole family. I don't think you should completely rule out candy just really limit it. If you rule if out all the way I think you crave it more.

I don't know what it is about that stuff...I been having tummy turmoil for a couple of days and ate 3 hershey kissy's while feeling queasy. Did it stop me? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Later on, I split a box of World's Finest Chocolate covered Almonds with my coworker. they weren't all that good...stale you could say. Did it stop me? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

All I can do is mentally note it and say I'm gonna say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
next time.

Throw it out! If not if it is chocolate I would freeze it. So when you want a piece it's harder to eat and you have to actually suck on it. This will help you in eating less. I have the same problem - trust me keeping myself from eating the frozen pizza and the hot pockets in the freezer is torture! So I am making the man eat it all..he's skinny he'll live - you know the old saying - out of sight out of mind! Good Luck!

I have the same problem...I know I can't eat it...even if it isn't rationale.

You guys crack me up! LOL

Today hasn't been the best, but the good news is I only have a handful of that "nasty candy" left :D So, once it's gone, it's gone...that is, unless my mom or dad decides to buy more...I have to realize that just because they buy it or it's offered doesn't mean I'm obligated to eat it, but boy, does it sure look good!!! I couldn't do my walk today because the weather is crappy...I'm sure you'll be getting it soon, Shawna (if it isn't there already) :P Thanks for all of your replies...you guys are the best! :)

Try those Baskin Robbins candies, they are sugar free nad i think like 5 caloris a piece. Tootsie rolls are good too like 5 caloris a piece. That's a way to get your chocolate fix.

Cough drops kill your cravings for sweets also. Really saves me at work.
