Hiya,
Well where do I begin. I have been overweight most of my life (Im 20 now) except when I was 16 and lost about 60lbs over the summer with the help of my best friend. But we grew apart and the pounds came back on with an extra 50 lbs ontop of that. So I'm now 255lbs with a long term goal of being in the 150-140 lb range. It just seems so much harder to lose weight on your own without any support, so that's why I'm here to help others and hopefully get the same back. So what's everyone doing to lose the weight?? What keeps you motivated?? Does anyone in the NJ area need a workout buddy ??

Hi and welcome. I think you will find the support you are looking for here. The ladies are wonderful. Feel free to post under the daily exercise and food journal. That is a great way to find some accountability for what you do each day. I have cut all sugar out of my diet and only eat whole grains(no white bread, rice etc.) It try to keep it under 1500 calories and watch my fat. My goal is to exercise 45 minutes to an hour every day, but I am recovering from surgery so I am starting slow again.
again welcome and good luck. I look forward to getting to know you better. sharla

<Hi amanda welcome to the boards. It is nice to know there are people here my age, I am 21. You sound like your off to a great start by setting goals. I don't like to cut things out completely because I know I will cheat. I just make a goal to like only eat a small piece of candy or birthday cake a week. I also make a goal to exercise atleast 4 times a week. I especially try to get in strength training because more muscle will boost metabolism. I have only been doing this about 2 weeks, but I lost 5 punds so far so it seems to be working. I believe in taking steps and not quiting everything all at once. I started at 253 2 weeks ago and am now at 248 my goal is 150 for now. I am nearly 5'10" tall and have a muscaular build so I don't know If I can do that.
Good luck keep us posted I would love to hear how it is going.

Hi! SussieQ here....my stats are 312/300/280(for now) I recently started WW, I was doing low carb low fat....lost 15 pounds doing that but the WOE is hard to follow for long period of time.
So back to WW....doing walk away the pounds....but I haven't exercised in over a week. I've been going to school and my day starts at 5:15 am and ends at 10:45pm so no time for that now.
Let us know what plan you are following...the ladies here are great we are all sisters and you are one of us...just ask any question and someone here will know the answer.
