Has anyone on this particular board used these workouts and if so, did you find them effective? I've recently purchased the Core Secrets basic kit and after inflating the ball, it seems softer and flimsier then I expected it to be. It's properly inflated to the correct size (I used the measuring taping provided), and I do expect someone of my own size (285 lbs) to cause more "give" then someone at a lighter weight. However, I was wondering if anyone else out there (within the same weight range as myself) found the ball effective even though it wasn't as firm as they'd expected it to be. I don't want to inflate it any further and cause it to burst, but it seems to me the workout would be more of a challenge if the ball were firmer. What do you think?

I just recently got the Core Secrets workouts, but I have used the ball in the past without specific workout routines. I like my ball to be on the firm side, when it is too soft I just feel like I'm gonna fall off of it or something. I've had the same ball for over 4 years and it hasn't burst on me yet. We actually used to abuse the poor thing, after my first DS was born there was quite a loooooong period of time when the only thing that would calm him was for us to bounce him on that darn ball. We bounced for hours and hours on it every day, with it inflated to a firm level btw, and it is still in great shape. Now I don't have the "Core Secrets" ball, but I'm assuming they are pretty much the same material/quality as any other fitness ball out there. In which case I think you'd have to REALLY fill it FULL of air to worry about it bursting.
I don't know that the workout is any more or less of a challenge with it inflated more. I guess how I could see it could maybe be a bit more since it's a little harder to balance when it is firmer, but knowing the moves in the workout I can't see that it would make a huge difference. If I were you I'd try it both ways and see what you think is best.
Have fun with it!! I did the bun battle for the first time on Tuesday and my buns are still hurting!!
