I'm a 50 year old female with 100+ lbs. to lose. I'm in my 9th week @ WW and down 9.8, but I keep see-sawing. At the end of the 3rd week, I was down 11.2. My problem is evenings and weekends -- no control. This is my 3rd week of exercise (WW DVD) and I feel better now that I've started to move. It's just such a slow process. Yesterday I went to lunch with four "fit" friends, and I was seated directly across from a mirror -- I wanted to die -- I looked so enormous. I'm having trouble with the big picture, getting to goal. It seems like it will never happen.

Hi and welcome. There are several people here who are doing weight watchers and I am sure they will also have lots of suggestions. It sounds like you are off to a good start. A lot of people have success with setting mini goals rather than one big goal. it makes it seem a little less overwhelming. You can always set a goal of 25 pounds and then give yourself a small reward for reaching it. The best way I have found to combat late night snacking is to get rid of all the unhealthy stuff in the house. If I do find I am snacking a lot at night at least it is healthy. have a bunch of healthy snacks ready for when you have to have something. Another thing I find that helps is to do something that keeps my hands busy. For me it is scrapbooking and quilting. On the weekends I also try to keep busy by being out of the house as much as possible. When the weather is nice we go on a lot of hikes etc.

I'm so glad you decided to join us and good luck in reaching your goal. sharla

Thank you. I am waiting for the nice weather so I can be outdoors more -- this winter seems like it's lasting forever. I'm starting to feel better just knowing I have another support group.

Welcome to 100 lbs or more to go! I’m one of the CL’s here on the board and would just like to say how glad I am that you joined us!

Having a large amount of weight to lose can seem very daunting, and I know that it sometimes feels like you’re doing it all by yourself. But we’re here to help! Please feel free to post any time you have questions, need advice or just want to chat.

We try to have a chat every Sunday night at 7 p.m. Join us by clicking on the link at the top of the board. We have a weekly weigh-in on Monday’s (in Celebration Station) where you can post how you did for the week, and also tips, recipes, challenges, and links to what’s going on around Ivillage.

I’m sure you’re going to just love it here! Hope to see more posts from you soon :)

P.S. There are quite a few of us doing WW here (including myself) and hopefully we can give you some great tips and advice.
