I think my day has gone a little better than yours. I hate going to the grocery store with all three of my children and can feel for you. I took the kids to the zoo and for once I thought ahead and packed my own lunch. It was a good thing because an itty bitty salad cost over $6.00. It is spring break and having all three children around the house has been trying. A day out getting rid of all their energy was good for us all. Hope tomorrow is better and congrats on being a few pounds lighter. sharla
Kids...they know when to push us don't they. This happened a few years ago.
My husband and I had gone out to eat with our then foster child, now godchild when she was about 2. She was real bad about throwing stuff all over the floor, or chewing stuff and spitting it out. After several warnings, my husband had enough and decided it was time for the dreaded "go outside for a moment"...
As they walked toward the door, the hostess said, "thank you, please come back". Amanda said in her baby talk,"He gone pank me. PANK ME HARD!" The hostess said, "Oh-Oh" and everyone within earshot laughed.
Sorry you had to deal with your son's "meltdown" in the store...I feel so sorry for parents when the kid(s) make a scene...I can just imagine how embarrassing that would be, and I'm sure some moms and dads would like to take their kids by the ear and literally drag them out of the store!
So, how do we keep those negative voices at bay?!?!? It is something I want to work on as it does have a lot to do with how we got here to begin with. How about you come back and join me here at the beginning of this journey and search out those inspiring and motivating stories, ideas, and recipes (or whatever you did that worked for you)? Re-focus all that time you are feeling bad into something productive: menu planning, change in your eating plan, completely different exercise program and post here as if you are just beginning. While your success is worth celebrating, the hard truth is, the weight is gone and only you can bring it back. The question for you is what is making you do that? Enough of my lecturing...you are a special person on this board and inspire me. Thanks for being here. LK
Lol,don't you just love when your kid waits till your out in public to test you?!
I'm getting ANSTY!I can't wait to plant my garden.I've already started clearing the area to make this years garden bigger, but I really want to get in there and start planting.I'm going to try and be patient...even though it's been nicer out, that can change at any time.
Other then that,I'm doing pretty good :o) Tried on my size 16 jeans yesterday and while they are still to tight to wear out in public...I got them on!So even more incentive then just my *skinny* picture on the fridge, lol.Which everyone looks and says..."wow,you were so skinny" :o( I was,but to bad I didn't feel like it.
Hope you have a fun weekend Shawna and congrats on being down a few pounds!!!
