Hi I'm Mikiya, I've been on this board before but I wasn't quite ready to lose the weight. Now at 245 lbs. I am ready to do just that. I am a 22 year old single mom (my son Nikolas is 3) and I am a college student (studying medical assisting now and phlebotomy this fall and a year from now nursing). I want to be healthy for my son...plus I hate my thighs rubbing together;)

I own the Firm body sculpting system and I love it but to motivate me my dad bought me the brand new Firm body sculpting system and it will be here in a couple of weeks...I'm really excited and motivated by this new system. It comes with 6 videos so I won't get bored with it...and if I do my dad is a soft touch for stuff like this I can always get another video lol!! j/k!! Seriously though my dad just wants the weight off me and will do whatever it takes.

Also my mom and dad just bought my son Nikolas an 8 wk. old puppy Nikolas named Spanky from the pound. I was told I would walk him. Plus I was told I would take my son for a wallk when I came home from school or a bike ride to the park. So that will get me more exercise. I also plan to park far away from the door at school and hike. Not that I don't already. ;)

I bought some slimfast and some powerbars to take to school since I am there all day and nothing will keep. The cafeteria is not friendly to people losing weight. I swear everything is fried! But I'm not sure what to eat when at home. Any suggestions would be helpful. I better go My 3 year old and my puuppy need me. It's spring break.

Mikiya

Hi Mikiya, Can your dad adopt me? He sounds great and a wonderful support system. you are very lucky to have someone like that. It sounds like you are doing great with your exercise. I lost a lot of weight when I was in school by walking everywhere. It was too hard to find a parking place anyway, so I would just walk across campus. I always keep a handfull of frozen dinners(weight watchers etc) for evenings when I don't want to cook a big meal. It is really hard to eat healthy when you have young children. The rest of the time I try to throw together a healthy meal. One thing you could do is cook a healthy meal like baked chicken at night and then eat the rest for lunch the next day. If you wanted to you cold throw the chicken in a salad. I try to avoid foods that are fried and have lots of sauces(fat) and go for the whole grains over the white ones. I look forward to getting to know you better. sharla

Hey Mikiya,

I'm Melissa and would love to chat and encourage you in any way that I can.

I am also 22 and am looking for someone to journey with on the path to better health. I am new to this message board and think that we could help each other on our way to change.

Hope to hear from you soon!
