...or hopefully 105 lbs!! So, I weighed myself last night for the first time in a month last night and did my measurements...not a pretty sight.

My current weight is 275, 5lbs higher than I have ever been. My hips are now further around than my chest, which has never happened before...I have always been slightly disproportionate with a larger chest than hips--not anymore I guess :(.

Well, on the bright side, I have myself set up for success.

I cooked a very large pot of chili with a lot of beans and just a little extra lean hamburger. I bought some fat free yogurt, some apples, oranges and cantaloupe, and some grape tomatoes and bell peppers.

I bought myself a new notebook to do my food journaling in, and I recorded my starting measurements.

I'm feeling pretty good about losing the weight this time, althought it will be harder than it was a couple years ago when I lost 50lbs...this time around I have a boyfriend who loves to cook and eat. He's pretty great, and he understands that most of this is about portion control...unfortunately his idea of "portion control" still leaves a portion about 3xs bigger than it needs to be...oh well, I'm glad he's being so supportive.

It sounds like you are off to a great start. Don't worry about the numbers. Before too much longer they will be a thing of the past as you start to lose weight. sharla

Hope you are having a healthful day today. Was suprised by my measurements too. How quickly we can lose control:) Now that we both have a firm grasp on the reality of teh situation we can better tackle it together! Think I will start keeping a journal too~ good idea!

So far so good today. Ate my fruit and yogurt for breakfast and had some low-fat chili for lunch. I called and cancelled my breakfast plans with my boyfriend for tomorrow (to avoid tempting restaurant breakfast foods--I love Cracker Barrel's hash brown casserole), we're going to meet for dinner (which I am bringing) instead. Good luck with your journal...I still have mine from the first time I lost weight. It's encouraging to look back and see what I can accomplish...it's also nice to look back and get ideas when I'm stuck for meals.
