Hi everyone...

My name is Mary and I've been lurking here for over 2 weeks.. I visit here daily and I think I read every post :) You guys are so friendly and supportive!! Reading your posts motivate me in so many ways. I have been lurking here too much that I think I know you all very well... hehe..

Well I think it is about time that I make an introduction and start posting..

I am 25 yrs old, been married for about 3 years (he was my boyfriend since I was 18) and I have a 1-year old son (Mark).. I am an electro-mechanical engineer and work in telecom industry now.

I weigh 236 lbs and I am really depressed. I gained so much during my pregnancy (70 lbs) and during the past year i have been trying to get it off, but only managed to lose 11 lbs.

I am serious in trying to lose the weight. Summer is alomost here and i feel depressed already. I know that last year i didn't put any effort in it because of the baby. But i want to try now. It would be great if i can have a buddy who is starting out like me. Maybe we could encourage each other..

WOW!! very long!! I am so sorry.. Thanks for the ones who are still reading..

Hi mary, When was your baby born? I also have a 15 month old boy who was born in December of last year. I think right after a baby is born is a great time to lose weight. I know that I have much more motivation to be healthy especially now that I have to keep up with a 1 year old that is into everything and very active. I hope you find lots of support. sharla

Hey Mary,
Congrats on making yourself known! Lurking is no fun. I would love to be your wt loss buddy--if I could lose any wt. I have only been trying x 4 days now, but have lost a few lbs. I'm new to the board too, but I love it anyway. I'm a nurse, but I run a home health company--I don't really do much actual nursing anymore. No kids--I think I'm too fat to have any. Anyway, you'll find great support here.

Hi Sharla & gracenpeece,

My son is now 13 months old, he was born on March 12. I laughed myself to tears when you said "who is into everything" cuz my son literly "goes into everything". I mean the kitchen cabinets, my clothes, shoes, under the bed. And at this weight, believe me it is so hard to crawl under the bed after him.

And gracenpeece, thank you for your support. My email is amir_mary@hotmail.com would love to hear from you.

Hi Mary, I started at 238 lbs 5 weeks ago and now I am down to 224, but exercise alot and have lost inches. It's hard, but I think we're worth it. I started out on South Beach just to fight the cravings, (I could easily finish a bag of Hershey Kisses at one time).
It does seem to be working though, i think I have had only 3 kisses in the whole 5 weeks. So "Welcome" and I look forward to chatting with you.
