Hi...

This board has been super-helpful and supportive in the past, and with its help I lost 65 pounds.

Then I got divorced and life got chaotic and I didn't come here and I lost all my bad habits and...

I'm 300 pounds. Heavier than ever. Have PCOS. Tomorrow morning, I start Medform. My doc says "why wait? You'll have diabetes eventually so we might as well start you out on the meds now". I wanted to cry. I don't know what to do. How can I finally change for good?

Have any of you hit this kind of low point? When did you finally feel like you were really changing your life and not just chasing the next diet fad? That might be too personal a question, but any feeling that I'm not alone would be so very appreciated.

Thanks to all for listening...I am so glad this board is here.

Thank you so much for your words, Rhonda. Just reading your email made me feel so much better, like I can do this.

Your reply reminded me why this board is so great...just knowing others take the time to reply, post great ideas, and set challenges makes me feel much less alone.

*hugs* - thank you.

Hi and welcome back. I know it is hard to start over again after you have regained the weight. For me my breaking point was after a really bad preg. I hated the way I felt and knew I never wanted to feel that way again, but if I didn't lose weight I would have worse problems. Good luck with your weight loss. I hope that you find lots of support here. sharla

I think my low point was about 2 weeks ago when I went shopping and realized that if I gain 2 more sizes, I won't even be able to shop in the fat store. Also, my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for two years now, but haven't been able to yet (I really do think I'm too fat to have one). Low points come all the time, but you just have to pick yourself up and realize that you are special and that God has a special purpose for you.
You can lose the weight--you just have to break those addictions. And find a doctor who understands PCOS. When you get on the right med for PCOS, the weight WILL come off and you'll be kicking yourself for not getting on it sooner. Diabetes is not imminent, you can change that outcome just like I am changing it for myself. You can do it!!!

Oh you are so not alone my dear. I think we've all hit rock bottom at some time or another. I to had gone from fad diet to fad diet as well as dealing with depression. I think I hit rock bottom when I suffered a horrible miscarriage which led me to eat my way up to about 300lbs. Im happy to report that since coming to this board (end of july 04), I am now down to 228lbs. Its not about dieting. Its about changing your life for good. It doesnt mean you cant have sweets, or that pizza or the lasagna. It just means moderation for everything. Exercise is important as well as your water intake. We are here for ya! Keep your head up!
