Most of my co-workers buy their lunches from the several eateries around the office; I usually bring mine.

I don't think I have the right answer for you. It usually involves my Dh and ends up with a major PMS moment with me telling him not to eat in front of me.(sometimes in a not so nice way.) sharla

That happens to me too, my coworkers order out EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It kills me! That stuff just smells up the office and I get the cravings too. I have started trying to eat lunch when they are not eating so I don't have to see it. I don't know what else to do.

My boss comes in my office about 10:30 everyday...."where we going to eat?" can we go get a smoothy today?

I told her NO, can't you see my big behind growing as I sit here! The worst part is that I usually cave...I hate that!

I hear ya, Lady Irish.

My office always has meetings that center around lunch and eating. On average, we either go out or have food catered in at least twice a week (most times more). When food is catered, they "try" to order veggie and "low carb" items if they're offered, but most times it's "the GOOD STUFF" and I find myself fighting not to grab what I really want.

I've been trying to have low-fat oatmeal about mid-morning, which helps me to resist a little bit better by Noon. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. What does help is that depending on what's going on, the more I'm involved in it, the less time I have to actually eat or even think about lunch. So I've been volunteering to help set stuff up even if I'm not involved in the actually meeting. That way a lot of the food is already taken by the time I get a chance to get lunch, and if it's not there anymore then it can't tempt me and I can't eat it!

My office usually orders out, on average, 2-3 times A DAY. If I come in mid-morning, they are getting together a "lunch" order to be delivered by 11 am. Then around 2-4 someone gets a "dinner" order for those who are still there. And, if I'm still there at 6 pm, the night people are usually getting together an order, too. And yesterday, my supervisor and a lady I sit right next to went out and bought about 5 lbs of candy, no joke. They've got M&Ms, Reese's, AlmondJoy, Rollos, and 2 different kinds of hershey's kisses! Some days it's hard to deal with the cravings, but others it's not. I have actually never caved to wanting to order, mainly because I don't bring cash to work with me and I hate writing checks. I always make sure I have good foods that I love in the breakroom, so I'm not too tempted. Then, even if I do have a big craving, I tell myself that if I plan for it during the day and eat really well, then my boyfriend and I can go out and get that food later in the evening. Usually the craving passes by then, but I know I am less likely to overeat around him, and we can usually share something to decrease the "badness" of it. Finally, if all that doesn't work, I have a picture of myself when I was thinner sitting on my desk, and I just look at that for inspiration and then look at the people around me. Two of my coworkers who usually instigate the food runs weigh around 400lbs, and I remind myself that 270 is bad enough and I don't ever want to be as big as them.
