I know some of you will laugh at this but, is there anyone here over 250 lbs that rides a bike?

LOL! That would be me. Last year I rode a bike for the first time in years with my husband and son. Believe me, getting my big self up on it and riding around was a big concern. But, once I got on and went it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Who cares what others think. Go out and have fun. I'm gonna start riding again too within the next week. Just have to have the tires and tubes check before we do. Especially after my sons back tire exploded when he was riding his bike last year. LOL! And, he isn't even overweight (he's also only 10). LOL! It was so loud the entire park stopped to look. We thought at first someone fired a gun. LOLOLOL! The bike was sitting for so long and the tubes were just old and that's why it happened. But, I'm not taking that chance with mine. That's why I am getting the bike checked first. Can you imagine, someone over 250 lbs. riding a bike and the tire expolodes? You know people wouldn't believe it was due to old tubes. They'd just look at the size of me and make their own assumptions. LOL!

Now, granted, I hadn't ridden one in quite a while, so I was very awkward, not to mention out of shape, and the seat hurt my poor ol' butt. LOL BUT...my dh got a mountain bike from my SIL, who couldn't ride it anymore due to a back injury, and I rode that once or twice, and it didn't fold (I was about your size at the time, somewhere between 240 and 260). lol But walking and standing exercise is a problem for me, too...I have tendenitis in my left foot, and it swells something awful and is quite painful from even just the hour walk around the grocery store on Sunday. So my dh bought me an exercise bike (it's a Reebok, which is very, very similar to a Lifecycle) the seat is much bigger than on my DH's mountain bike, and I just love it. I never thought I'd get back to regular exercise until I got it. But if you can't afford something like that, you could even look for a more simpler model, like one of those fan bikes.
