Well here I am. I am a mother of 4 who is in serious need of losing weight. I have tried in the past and seem to do great for a month and then slip off the wagon. This time I have really done it...not only am I in my "fat" jeans I am bursting out of them. (I just know someone out there has been there with me ;) I know to drink drink drink water. What other things/ diets have worked for you? I need something to jump start me but I need healthy living ideas. I can't work out until I drop at least 30 lbs as it puts too much strain on my knees, back, etc. I DO plan on doing some stretching and small things that I can. I am over 250 lbs and my ideal weight is 145. So as you can see I have a ways to go. Any thoughts on small healthy meals, how to avoid the couch munchies, etc would be appreciated!!
TIA,
Lori

Hi Lori,
All of us have been there with you and we all know what its like to burtst out of fat jeans. Heck, I still am. I found that Atkins worked great for me, but it wasn't doable long-term for me--Carbs are my favorite food. So now I'm doing manage portions kind of thing. Every week I add a new thing to do. First week, I managed portions. Second week, I still managed portions but added exercise. Starting Monday, I'm doing those two things but adding the water (I drink hardly any now). I just cant do it all at once, so one new thing a week gives me time to get used to new things. Then next Monday, I'm going to start eating a modified Atkins diet--something I can do long-term. Also, I started doing the pilates workout--Its really low-impact. I love it but its hard. Getting easier though.
