Okay, since there seems to be a bit of interest in having buddies on here, I thought I would move the discussion of creating a buddy system to it's own post. Anyone who is interested in becoming buddies can post their information in this thread, then, tomorrow or Thursday we can divide up into buddies. I think it would be a good idea to "pair" up in groups of three, that way we are more likely to have regular support available. However, since we do seem to have a growing number of members, we might just start with "pairs" of two, then when new people come, than can join a buddy pair. Here are a few questions that might make buddying up easier.
1) Do you prefer e-mail buddies, or just message-board buddies?
2) What is your current eating plan?
3) What is your age?
4) What part of the country are you from?
5) Do you have any special obstacles to being able to lose weight?
6) How often do you exercise?
7) Do you use a food tracker such as Fitday.com or some other program?
8) How much are you trying to lose?
You don't have to answer all of the questions if you don't want to, but if everyone would also put down how they would prefer to be paired up, it would be great. After everyone has had a chance to respond, we can go ahead and pair up.

I hope it isn't too late for me to join the up with Buddies. I have 2 sick kids at home and it was either give up exercise or the computer. So I gave up the computer, but now I have a few minutes, so here goes.
1.email or message board buddies would be fine with me
2.current eating plan- sort of low fat, low calorie and watching the carbs. I stay away from sugar and flour, or at least try. I also eat every 3 hours.
3.age 38
4.I live in Western Maryland
5.No major obstacles so far, other than not losing it fast enough for me.
6.I exercise every day, at least 2 miles and try to do 5
7.I just write down everything I eat and what time I eat.
8.I need to lose 75 lbs now to get to goal
I think 2 or 3 people would work really great.

Hello, here I am hoping for a belated buddy!

2) What is your current eating plan? I am trying to eat more fibre, less sugar, less fat. I just quit WW because it was making me a maniac.

7) Do you use a food tracker such as Fitday.com or some other program? I have previously. I also have journaled here and that is my plan for now. I also journal food in a little notebook.
8) How much are you trying to lose? I am trying to lose 90-100 pounds. Right now I am around 240ish.
I am a fun person! I am into art, and I have a nice boyfriend here, and I like to swim. Right now I really dislike my job as a nanny (I love kids...but...) I work 60 hrs a week and I wish I could work in an art gallery or teach art, so I am trying to do that. I have been overweight since I was about 10 yrs old.

Email would be great, message board ok, but I would love to find someone I could actually meet!

Lower calorie, more fruits and veggies, more fiber, less fat and carbs, and I try to eat only when truly hungry, a diet I call watch how my 57 lb. 10 year old daughter eats!!

Only my addiction to sweets and fast food Yikes!

Not very often, but would like to change that!

I use fitday for the weighttracker, but not for food. I use a diary to track my hunger and food intake.
8) How much are you trying to lose?
I started out at 266, I am now at 238, and would like to get to anywhere in between 120 and 140, based on my body's setpoint(I am 5'3).
More about me, I am a disabled(chronic depression)stay at home mother, love reading and movies, and most of all spending time with my daughter..
