I posted my journal for yesterday down below and although I wasn't really hungry thru out the day, I did notice I'm really not eating enough. (Shawna confirmed!)

So my question is: What are you guys snacking on during the day - b/t breakfast-lunch and or lunch-dinner. I need some suggestions.

I am doing a modified cut out carbs (white flour/sugar products) and low fat - just an FYI.

Oh, and as an aside - yesterday I bought the WW fudgsicles - 1pt per stick - OMG - they are great! Had that after dinner yesterday and was so satisfied!

Hey Kerry:

A couple of things I bring for snacks that are higher in protein and low in fat and/or calories:

Sliced Cucumber
Baby Carrots
Light Yoplait Yogurt (99% fat free and only 90 calories)
Apples (less sugar than most other fruits)
Low moisture/Skim milk cheese sticks

These things tend to keep me satisfied between meals.

Hmm.....let me think.... sometimes I eat raw carrots dipped in FF ranch dressing. Or how about reduced fat Triscuits? I believe they're whole wheat. Or something I just found...a small apple with about a Tbsp of peanut butter (I just make sure that day, when I eat the peanut butter, that I'm really good). Sometimes I eat a cup of applesauce (there's a Peach/Mango one that I've found that I really like; it's probably got sugar in it).

My snack type foods are as follows:

Granola Mix (exact portion)
Trail Mix (exact portion)
Piece of fruit
Celery Sticks
Carrot Sticks
Rice Cakes
Sugar Free Jello (exact portion)
Yogurt
Fat Free or Low Fat Cheese (a few slices)
Triscuits (Reduced Fat - exact portion - also good with some tuna fish on them)

Can't think of anymore right now. I always have a wide variety of fruits in the house. Usually they are: bananas, apples, oranges, grapefruit, honeydew, cantaloupe, seedless grapes, and seedless watermelon. I know some people doing low carb can't or won't eat certain fruits but I just thought I'd let ya know what I usually eat.

An apple with some low carb peanut butter is good too. I sometimes even put some peanut butter on my celery sticks. Once in a while I will buy some Fat Free veggie dip for my celery and carrots as well.

Every time I come home from shopping I immediately wash and slice up my fruit and make a huge bowl of fruit salad that I can take from throughout the week. The rest of the fruits, especially the watermelon, cantaloup, grapes, and honeydew, get cut up and placed into seperate ziplock baggies. That way if I just want a few pieces of something I can take it from the baggie rather than having an entire bowl of fruit salad. Some times I just feel like having a few pieces of watermelon ya know? Also, if I run out of that huge bowl of fruit salad during the week I just take a few baggies of already cut fruit and make a new one.

I also prepare things like this right away because it helps me keep with my plan. Before I just put all my fruit in the frig as is from the supermarket. Then when I got hungry I would always say to myself: "Oh, I don't feel like cutting up that cantaloupe (for example) right now. I'll just grab some 'whatever'." And the 'whatever' was usually something I could easily grab like cookies or some chips. Preparing things ahead of time leaves me with no excuse for grabbing something unhealthy to snack on. I also do this with my fresh veggies too. Like my celery. As for carrots, I usually just buy those small baby carrots so I don't need to cut them. I just wash them and place them into baggies.

Another thing I do is I will take a yogurt (I usually buy Dannon Light N Fit - 4 oz cups) and pour that over a bowl of fruit salad. You wouldn't believe how filling that can be. At least it is for me.

Hope these suggestions help some. Good luck!!!!!!

I usually snack on cereal (whole grain honey nut cheerios), fat free/sugar free yogurt, celery w/peanutbutter or plain peanuts. Hope this helps:)

My favorite snacks are apples........fuji ones are delish!......carrots, cuc's or cauliflower w/ light ranch, a few light chips, reduced fat cheese nips (31 is 3 points), and if I'm wanting something sweet, hostess makes these light cinnamon crumb cakes- they're kinda small and a whopping 2 points each so I do this rarely, but I'll have one of those.

This is a good topic, and there have been a few questions about this lately so I posted a favorite menu items thread :)

I also love apples with peanut butter --- I only eat natural peanut butter, no sugar added. You can get the kind with one thing added for preservative, so it doesn't seperate. There's a brand called "Just Peanuts", or I usually just get it at my local bulk food store.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE Source Apple Crumble Vanilla yogurt. It is seriously SO good and I believe sweetened with aspartame or sucralose? During the summer I love fresh fruit, especially things like pineapple, mango, peaches, cherries. I also just loooooove fresh peas, right out of the pod uncooked. Cottage cheese is good, especially with grapes and/or almonds. Ummmm, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumber slices soaked in vinegar water (just slice em up and leave em in a bowl in the fridge with a half and half vinegar/water solution, add salt and pepper to taste), oh, and I love frozen grapes... Just take a bunch, pick em, wash em and stick em in the freezer. Just make sure that you eat them frozen, if you let them thaw out they get kinda squishy....
