I'm so very discouraged right now.. I started out at 321 lbs about a month ago.. I weighed Sunday morning (5-15-05) and weighed in at 314. I've been sticking to my dieting and excercises every day with the exception of one slice of cake. Anyways, I am supposed to weigh on Fridays, but out of habit I weighed today and was 321 again?? how is this possible? I almost cried. I have been so close all day to just giving in and eating whatever I want.. I just don't know what is going on. I drink atleast 80 oz of water a day. For breakfast I have either a low carb shake or a low carb breakfast bar. For lunch I either have a salad with low carb dressing or a healthy choice meal, and for dinner I eat what I cook for the family, but cut my portion way down. I have 2 snacks a day, which is usually either 1/2 cup of low carb icecream or a sweet freedom low carb icecream bar. I do a 30 min walking tape every day mon-fri, usually around 12:30 p.m. I don't know what else to do.. any advice would be greatly appreciated..thanks for listening..

I agree...you're eating too many diet sweetner stuff. It will stall your weight loss. It doesn't matter if it is splenda or another sweetner. The Atkins web site or the Atkins ivillage message board can probably give you more info on this.

Also, being an x-low carb WOE person....if you eat a little carb every once in a while it causes you to lose more weight...don't ask me to explain...it is something a lot of low carb folks found out and discussed at length at the Atkins ivillage message board.

DON'T GET EXCITED GUYS....THIS IT THE BESTEST MESSaGE BOARD AT IVILLAGE AND I LOVE ALL OF YOUS!!!!!

The measureing tape is a good suggestion...because if you gain muscle you may not have a weight loss. But you can see the difference on the tape....and stay of that dang scale!

I think the thing about the diet sweetner stuff is that just looking at or tasting something sweet, regarldess of what it's sweetened with, actually starts an insulin reaction. Just looking at a piece of pie starts a chemical reaction in your body. So eating a lot of "fake" sweet stuff can actually cause your body to react in a similar was as it would to sugar, though obviously not nearly as severe....
