Don't think that just because you are eating low fat/low calorie foods that you can eat all that you want. The calories still add up and must be burned off regardless of what kind of food you eat. Balance is the key.
Eat your fruits and veggies! By the USDA, we need at least 5 or more total servings, and if you aim for 9 or more, you get lots of fulfilling foods with little calories, comparatively. And, drink your milk and get your dairy in because it's been shown to help lose body fat, and it definitely helped me the first time around!
I get all panicy when I want to eat something I shouldn't. This is when I literally do some relaxation breathing... three or four really long deep breaths, think about my goal a bit and usually this gives me time to get back into the kickin' butt mode!
I have found to keep cravings at bay I will drink V8(filling and a serving of veggies) before meals, and for a snack or great breakfast, I have found recently that Fiber One Honey clusters are DELICIOUS! And they have a whopping 14 grams of fiber(half your daily requirement) per serving (Delicious(this does Not taste like twigs!), filling, and keep moving things along). It is hard to beat that for a snack or breakfast!
Don't try to instantly change the way you eat. Gradually make changes and it will become habit. Trying to do everything all at once is a sure road to failure.
