Has anyone ever considered running? Do any of you run now? I am seriously considering trying to make a goal to start running 2 - 3 times a weak, but at this point, can barely run a quarter mile without getting out of breath or having painful cramps. I understand it's something you build up to, but just wondering if anyone is working toward a running goal or is considering doing so.

ah... I do have a dream of me, in a string bikini... running down the beach...!
I would love to run but I have torn the ligaments in my left ankle twice, so I am waiting until I lose a lot more weight before I do. I do not want to get injured right now because it really puts a dint in the weight loss efforts. To prepare though, I use the elliptical machine at the gym because it is the same motions as running, but doesn't have a high impact of stress on the joints. (Also swimming is really low impact)
It's a great machine to try for people planning to run, or crosstraining.
I call it the torture machine because it just gets me sweating in three minutes flat, and it really is firming up my stomach and sides of my bellybelly.
