Ok--I QUIT!

So I did really good OP for a month and then fell off the wagon. For the past three weeks I have been off program and just been lurking around here. Well, it's time for me to say I QUIT! I quit being fat and eating unhealthy. I quit being lazy and not exercising. I quit hating the way I look and dressing in unflattering clothes to cover up my body. I know that this road to weight loss is long and hard, and I know that I am going to have bumps along the way, but I really want to do this this time. I'm ready to get back on track in full swing, and I stocked up last night on fruits and veggies, lean meat, whole wheat bread, milk and low-fat cheese--healthy foods. I woke up this morning and, instead of wearing my normal hooded sweatshirt and jeans put on a nice skirt and top and did my hair and makeup. I brought all of my healthy foods to work with me so I don't have to be tempted to eat junk. And, I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 3 weeks, and I have only gained 5lbs!!! Usually when I go off plan, I gain back everything, but this time I did try to be reasonable about what I ate, and I think it worked pretty well.
Here are my current goals:
Lose 15-20 lbs by 07/25/05 (I will decide for sure after I see how much water weight I lose this week, usually I have about a 10 lb loss the first week back OP, but since I didn't gain too much of what I had first lost back, I might not lose that much.)
Exercise at least 4 times per week for a minimum of 15 minutes (will go up over time). I have decided that I really want to get into running/jogging and would like to train for a 5K.
Eat at least 7 servings of fruits and veggies a day. This shouldn't be too hard, because I think that I am going to start making fruit/milk smoothies in the morning with at least 2-3 servings of fruit. I am also going to try to stick to mostly whole foods such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy products and lean meats.
Stay off soda! I gave it up 3 weeks ago, and haven't had a drop since :). That's at least one good thing I did in going off plan--I was drinking about 2-4 LITERS a day of diet soda and even some regular soda! I am drinking mostly water, some tea w/out sugar, and skim milk.
Sorry so long winded :).

LOL Kristi! I just got in to work today and have been away from the board all weekend. When I saw your post I had to laugh out loud! Now everyone probably thinks I'm crazy, too! :) I just ignored their comments and brought my food in today like I normally would. The funny thing is that I brought in a big salad just for lunch today, and it takes up as much room as all of the other stuff I brought in last week to last me for a few days! I think I'm going to keep the container it came in and just put all my meats/cheese/etc in it and leave it in there just for fun :). There do seem to be way too many sabateours out there-at work and at home. I think that even people who want you to succeed and are supportive turn into sabateuors sometimes. My wonderful boyfriend Neil has been so supportive and eats the low fat/sugar free/whole wheat stuff I make or buy without complaining, but sometimes he just doesn't get it. He still believes in the "everything in moderation" rule, which is true, but sometimes it just doesn't work. I have come to accept that there are some things that I just absolutely cannot seem to moderate, so I stay away from them only to turn around and have to watch him eat them! Oh well, I can't complain because he has been a wonderful guy--even if he just doesn't get it sometimes. :)
