I just finished with yet another binge session...I've been going to the gym everyday, trying to eat better, etc., and then I ruin it with eating mass quantities of chips and chocolate!

I know exactly how you feel! I am having tom right now, and days before I feel as though I could devour all the food in the world, but usually it is a pizza, or Mc Donalds, chips, cookies or anything that I shouldn't be eating! I hope you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on keeping on! I am looking for an e-mail buddy if you are interested! Or even a snail mail pen pal, we could send tips, or inspiration to one another! take it one day at a time, sweetie!

I think all of us have days like that. I know I do. The only way I can control binge eating is not to have it in the house. I am a lot less likely if I have to go to the store and buy the chocolate. I also keep lots of healthy snacks in the house. If you are going to binge let it be on rice cakes and carrots. Just don't give up and you will get there. sharla

I always hate to use cliches, but in this case, "been there, done that" fits. This is a part of my makeup, to eat for comfort. However, if I let myself have some of the comfort food, then it's not so taboo. As soon as I let the problem into the light and stop fretting about what I'm doing, the urge to keep going in it dissipates. Float some positive onto a situation that has you hating yourself: You worked out, increased your metabolism, built muscle and did some toning on your heart muscle. Sure, no one wants to binge ever, but especially not after doing something that we feel will get us ahead of the game. But this is an area that we beat ourselves up over and over and over again. So take the oomph out of it. Take some of the power away from it and bring it into the light - tell yourself the truth about it. It's truly freeing. Blessings and wellness to you - Kristi :o) <><

Lori: Shawna is absolutely right. It's over. Learn from it and let it go. If you feel an attack of the munchies coming on, there are things you can do. Take a walk, start doing something with your hands to prevent them from picking up food, get out of the house, away from the kitchen and don't go anywhere that has food. Those are things I do since I'm a compulsive overeater and binging is part of my life. You have to take the control and physically do other things. That's for next time. For now, just stop beating yourself up about it and focus on your GREAT accomplishments.
