For the next few months I have a foolproof defense against the vending machine at work.

I love cherries! My mom and dad buy a whole tub of them from B.J.'s whenever they go now just for my little sister and I. They are also really good when you freeze them or throw them into a blended with some low cal. yogurt to make a smoothie!

You are so lucky Mary. I remember when we lived in Calif. (Vacaville) and buying cherries right off the street. 5 bucks for a BIG bag. Here in Ohio they are 399 a pound right now and refuse to pay that. We also had the little corner strawberry patches where they pick them fresh everyday and sell them, oh so good. I can get strawberries pretty cheap but I do miss the cherries. :-)Stephanie

At the beginnig every cherry season my dh brings home a big bag of these wonderful treats just for me. In my opinion, they are better than a dozen roses! LK

My favorite cherry is the Ranier cherry. It grows well in eastern Washington and fairly well in western Washington (where I am). It's yellow with a hint of red on it and just wonderful. Mmmmmmm good! Kristi :o) <><
