I saw a thread in another section about maybe getting a challenge started, and I thought I would bring the idea up here and see if we get any more responses. How many people would be interested in joining a challenge? I know I would. If you are interested, what are some ideas you have for the challenge? I think that it would be fun to do a 2 month long challenge, with mini challenges both of the two months.
Here is what I was thinking:
We could do a "gold star" challenge for the two months, where every time we meet a set goal, we get a gold (literally or figuratively) star to put on our calendars/journals. We could do stars for staying OP for the day and for exercising, and earn one "star" for each thing, every day. For June, we could challenge to see who can get the most stars for exercise and July we can challenge to see who gets the most for staying OP. And for the big challenge, we can see who gets the most stars overall for diet and exercise over the course of the 2 months.
I think that we should give 1 star for each 20 minutes of exercise, with a maximum of 2 stars a day and/or 7 stars a week. All exercise would count, and add up over time. If you took 2 10 minute walks in 1 day, then you would get 1 star; if you took a 15 min walk 1 day and a 25 min walk the next, it would be 2 stars; you get the point.
I think that for staying OP, it's just that. If your goal is X points/calories/carbs/etc for the day, and you meet it, you would get a star. I also think that if you stay OP for, say, 7 days in a row, you could an extra star or something.
I like these two things being the focus of the challenge because I know how we all lose weight in different ways and some lose more quickly than others. I also know that some of us are very good at exercising, but not so good at staying OP. This gives everyone a chance to win :)!
Let me know what you think!

Edited to add: Oh yeah, and I think the gold star thing would be fun because it gives us something to focus on other than the scale. I think that even if we don't do this challenge, I am going to start the gold star thing as a reward system for myself--XX stars = a new top (or something).

Hey Staci!
You have great ideas.
