OK, its JUNE......The Pool Is Open

The stupid pool opened last weekend. I hate going to the pool....stupid bathing suits and stupid people who look GOOD in bathing suits. LOL

Anyway, convinced dh to take the kids today. The thought of getting into a suit right now just depresses me soooo much. But, I'll be taking them most of the summer, so I have to get over that!

Just whining today! Actually, I think I'll look better in a bathing suit this summer, since I"ve been working out more than last year. But, as usual, that weight just didn't come off like I had hoped. My fault, I know....but don't the months seem to go by faster now than they did when we were younger? I think they do! I swear, it was just Christmas last week! lol

Oh well, whine time is over. I've been super whiney this weekend! Must be my week to whine!

I'm ok to get into my suit since it has the boy legs and I wear swim shorts with it. Even still, I hate to be seen from behind. All I can think of is cottage cheese legs and back rolls - aack! Kristi :o) <><

I think you should just go to the pool and have fun! Don't worry about what other people think. Most people are self concious when it comes to wearing a bathing suit anyways. Just go out and enjoy the summer while you can... before you know it it's going to be snowing! lol.

Just don't think about other people... just focus on having fun.. once you get in the water with the kids you'll forget all about it..

I am going on a beach vacation next week.. yep, the whale is hitting the water again this summer.. seriously I love the water and simply don't care what other people think as long as i am having fun..

ummm.. one thing that helps me is not to look at myself in a full-length mirror in my swimsuit

I agree. Go have fun. What I do is remind myself that according to the statistics there are a lot more plus size people than small size people. We're now the majority!!

Oh boy, time gets me too. I can't believe I just turned 54! Yuck, seems like yesterday I was 21. I look at my life now and it's nothing like I wanted and I'm realizing that I haven't DONE any of the things I wanted to do. I wanted to own my own home, travel and be independent. Instead we rent, no money to travel (I've never been east of Nevada or north of Oregon) and I'm so dependent on DH's income. Not what I planned at all.

I know how you feel Dawn.Hubby has made it a point to let me know that we'll be hitting the beaches MUCH more this year.He loves the beach as do the kids, and while I know I look better then last year,it still doesn't make me feel all that better knowing that I still have alot more to go till I'll feel as comfy in a swimsuit as I am in my clothing(meaning jeans...long pants, lol).

At least this year I have to buy a new suit...so I'm thinking of spending a little more and getting something that will cover the problem areas and still flatter my ever changing figure.

And yes...times goes WAY to fast these days.I'm hoping to get down to a much lower weight then I am now before the winter season, but I have to continue to work my arse off.Last year I made excuses to not go skiing, but it was my embarrassment of my weight...this year I don't want to do that again :o( I missed not skiing.

I want to say just bite the bullet and go to the pool, but that's a lot easier said than done. A LOT! I have't been to a public pool EVER, and the last time I was in a pool (at a college) was about 8-10 years ago, which, coincidentally, was the last time I owned a swimming suit, and when I was at my lowest weight ever. Neil's sister has been bugging us to go swimming with her and her son, and I know that eventually we will have to do it (she's very persuasive). She lives in a gated community type of place, and the community has their own free pool that's open until midnight. I finally bit the bullet and bought a swimsuit on Saturday. It's a two piece halter tankini. It's all black, but that's only because it's the only one that was cut in a way that was flattering to my body. I tried on a very pretty turquoise blue two piece with a strapless top, but it smashed my well endowed chest and made me look very big because of that! Ummm, no thank you. I actually got mine at Wal-Mart, and it only cost $18, because it was on sale. The great thing is that the top is so cute that I could wear just it with a summery skirt over my swimsuit bottoms and be very comfortable.

My only problem with buying the suit is that I realized something while trying it on in front of the full length mirror under the flourescent lights--my thighs have gotten that fat, cottage cheese look :( and they are VERY pale. I don't generally advocate tanning, but I think I just may have to go a few times because seeing how pale my thighs are makes me very self conscious.
