New Here ... and a Question

Hi everyone,
OK, so I'm not totally new here but I know it's been probably 2 years since I've posted on this board, so I think that qualifies as a newbie (again!).

Welcome back to the board! I'm sure that you can find success this time around if you stick with it. I've read somewhere that the more times you try, the more likely you are to succeed the next time, so at least there's some hope :).
As far as goals go, I usually make a weekly and a long term weight loss goal. I make an either/or goal to either lose 2-4lbs/week (a bit high for normal, but I tend to lose quickly) OR to lose XX# of inches. I look at past weight loss diaries to find reasonable goals. I also make weekly eating and fitness goals. My long term weight loss goal is usually to lose X lbs by X date. For this goal, I usually pick a date at least one month in the future that is somewhat special, and then I make a goal to lose about 1.5-2lbs per week. For example, on May 25, I made a goal to lose 15 lbs by July 25, my anniversary with my boyfriend. If I reach it early, I just start on my next goal. My goal after that will be to lose 15 lbs by September 12, my birthday. While I tend to make a lot of mini goals, a lot of people find it easier to make 1 reasonable goal and then move on from there. I've heard that a very reasonable weight loss goal is to lose 10% of your body weight in 24 weeks. For you, that would make your goal to lose 26 lbs in 24 weeks, or, if you started today, by November 23rd. That's just barely over 1 lb a week, and a very reasonable goal to attain.
Also, if you're looking for extra motivation/goals to reach for, I believe we are starting a challenge here on this board on June 13th, next Monday.
Good luck on your journey, and I hope you stay with us this time :)!

Hi there and welcome (back) :)
I don't know about the Isagenix thing, so I can't help you, but I don't see anything wrong with doing
I was just reading an article in AARP bulletin about weight loss and it says that 10-15% seems to be the amount that people can lose & maintain. Also, I've always read & been told that one of the worst things people can do to lose is set a time limit. Then if that time limit isn't met people feel like they've failed. So, my suggestion would be to set your goal at 10% and then decide what you want to do to reach that goal. Once you do you can think about whether you want to keep going or if you & your body are happy at that point.
Be careful with the cleanse and follow the directions. These can be hard on the system and can deplete minerals if don't incorrectly. If possible, talk to your doctor and see how he/she feels about it.
