Diet pills or supplements

I have seen alot of questions lately about pills and supplements that are supposed to help us lose weight and this concerns me.

Okay y'all, here is my two cents on diet pills.
For about 4 months now I have been going to a weight loss center in Jellico, Tennessee (I live in Corbin, Ky). They have been prescribing me a one a day time release pill. It has been working very well at suppressing my appetite.
But the pill also have a psychological affect. I'm more aware of my body and what I'm eating. It's a real help while trying to change my diet from sweets and fats to a healthy vegetarian diet. I intend to keep taking the pills until I've lost a considerable amount of weight and I'm more comfortable with my new diet.
On the other hand, when my brother tried taking the same pill his appetite increased and he just didn't feel well.
All in all, I'd say diet pills aren't for everyone. If you want to try them, go for it. If now, just do your best.

It's ok :)
I did the Phen fen back in the 90's. I lost 30 pounds the first month and then about 15 pounds a month after that for several months. I ended up moving about 10 pounds before I reached my goal weight and was unable to get the pills anymore. Needless to say I am here and I gained the weight back. About a year later they came out with all the side effects from the pills and I swore I would never take diet pils again unless their had been lots of research on them to prove they were safe. It just seems like they say a pill is safe for awhile and then they change their mind. If I knew for sure it would work and was positive that it was safe I would go for it. As far as supplements go I think a lot of them are scams and I don't know how to tell what is a scam and what really works. At this point I don't want to throw a lot of money into something I don't really believe will work. I'm pretty cheap though.

I just wanted to also agree with your post. I have contemplated using a diet pill or
weight loss supplement. The 2 things I keep going back to are:
1. So many of these new pills that are deemed safe end up being taken off the market yrs.
later after people have died or suffered major ill affects from them.
2. If you don't truely change your lifestyle, the weight will come back.
