Hey all, I was just looking at posts, and wondering if anyone sticks to a specific weight loss diet plan or not...

...basically I am going through the motions of eating what I want, but in much smaller amounts than before, and snacking healthily rather than unhealthily.

I was just wondering if anyone was following a really successful plan, that was moderately easy to follow, well just looking for inspiration!

Hope all is going well!!

After being on countless "diets," I have come to an epiphany...I will NEVER diet again!! I know we've all heard people say it, well now I'm going to...DIETS DON'T WORK!!

I refuse to count another calorie, eat a bunless burger, or attempt to eat enough meat to feed a small country. The problem with diets is when you stop the diet - then what? For me the weight's always crept back on (and then some).

This time I am finding this journey to a healthier me much easier to "stick" with because I am NOT on a diet. And in the first month, I've lost 10 lbs!!! I do not refer to what I am doing as "dieting" (there's a lot of pressure and buildup in that word), rather I have changed my lifestyle.

Simply put, I have decided to make better choices. I don't limit carbs, fats, calories...I just choose better foods. When eating out, I won't go for the 5,000 calorie bacon cheeseburger, but I will enjoy the grilled chicken sandwich w/ fries (of course leaving most of the fries on my plate)!!

Another trick I use - and this WILL work, especially if you hate working out as much as I do. If I spend 45 minutes on the Eliptical machine, I burn approximately 600 calories. The best time to go grocery shopping is RIGHT AFTER working out - you have natural endorphins working for you and you're more likely to be in a "healthy" state of mind. Out of habit, I often find myself in the cookie/cracker isle (I am a carb addict!!) - I will pick up a package of my favorite chocolatly treat, take a look at how many calories are in a serving and then calculate how many minutes/hours I would have to work out to get rid of that (man, this will make you put down the pastries, trust me). You'd be surprised how easy it is to turn down "junk food" after busting my butt for 600 calories.

I love Reese's Peanut Butter cups, but at ~250 calories and 14g of fat for 1 package...forget it! I hate working out MORE than I love peanut butter and chocolate.

Just my $.02
