Well, I am on day two and I have been having some agonizing headaches! I have had no refined carbs or sugar or caffeine for that matter. Just wondered if I was going through some kind of withdrawal, lol. Otherwise I haven't been hungry or starved, so that is good.

I don't remember which plan you are doing, but both the withdrawal from caffiene and sugar can cause headaches. Choices are to wait it out and drink lots of water to help flush your system, or go off the refined carbs and caffiene a little more gradual. Hope this helps! Kristi :o) <><

Yes, that's withdrawals. You can add back the coffee, maybe just a cup in the morning and you should see the headaches go away. Or you can tough it out. The headaches should only last a few days. There are mixed reviews on whether coffee is good or bad. I know people who've done low carb for a long time and have never given up their coffee. Some studies say it can slow down weight loss, others say it's good for us. So you have to decide for yourself whether you want to keep the caffeine in your diet.

Hi Heather! I get horrible headaches when I don't have caffeine. When I was trying to get off caffeine, I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 decaf and regular...then slowly upped the amount of decaf until it was 100% decaf. You might try that rather than cold turkey!

I gave up my Dt. Coke and Dt. Dr. Pepper cold turkey on Tuesday.
