Hi everyone :)...

My name is Laurie, I am 24 yrs old...I'm about 5'8 and around 305lbs. For the past few weeks, I have been so depressed and sick of my weight. I've just have enough. It's getting to the point where I don't leave my house, unless I have to. I'm not working because of the anxiety and panick attacks. I think I walk into a room and instantly everyone is looking at me and saying mean things. It's just awful, and I have no excuse since I am home and I am able to go walk or whatever. My younger sister is 12, she's about 5'6 1/2 and weighs 190. We both said when she was out of school for the summer we were going to get our CD players out, walk over to the park and walk around the pond for awhile..She's been out since June 23rd and we have yet to go. She has no motivation either which makes it hard to do it. But I have no choice, my health has gone down the tubes, I all around feel like crap.

I am glad I found this board, somewhere I can vent and get others support and maybe hearing others stories will help give me the boost I need to start walking.

Thanks for listening :)
~Laurie

hello Laurie and welcome to the board! Im really sorry to hear that you are struggling with your weight. Being overweight can really plan some nasty mind games with us. I hope that you plug in with us here and you find some support. You and your sister would be a great support for each other and I hope you guys start walking soon!

Thanks for the replies :)...

My sister and I did get out yesterday and took a 30 min walk...Until it started to down poor on us lol...It's been raining all day today too...so I have been getting up and walking around the house...Then I decided to pull out my "walk away the pounds" DVD, that I have used once...and since my DVD player isn't working, a light bulb went off that I could use it on my computer to watch it lol...

So I did some of that, I couldn't finish it, it's the 3 mile one and by the time I get to 2 miles I am out of breath and my hips hurt. Excuses I know, I did push myself as far as I could. Tomorrow, maybe I can go a little longer until I get to the point where I can do all 3 miles plus taking a walk.

Has anyone else tried "Walk away the Pounds"?

Welcome Laurie, I know how hard it can there and start exercising, but once you start it will be much easier and I bet you come to enjoy it. Set tiny goals of how far and long you want to walk . Every few days increase it and before long you will feel so much better. I look forward to getting to know you better. I have found the more I post themore motivated I become. good luck. sharla

I have a question...

Today I spent the day outside, played some frisbee and I was constantly moving around playing catch with a ball...So much that I was hot, sweaty, my heart rate was up...But after awhile, I was feeling nauseous...I had to take a break, then I was fine...I'd get back up and start running around again and the nauseousness would come back.

Does that happen to anyone else?

Was it hot and humid? The heat will do that. Stephanie

maybe it was a loss of energy? Tried an apple and a glass of water?

That might of been it...I only had a salad for lunch...(skipped breakfast because I went to bed late and got up late lol)...I was drinking water, but I didn't eat again until 6pm...It must of been the lack of food. I'll have to remember next time to keep myself fueled with more food then just a salad. I love getting outside and doing stuff, but when it makes you feel nauseous you don't tend to do it as long as you'd like...

Thanks again :)
