hi everyone, my start date for my diet is tomorrow. I will try portion control and exercise as other things have not worked. my problem is food is my comfort and i eat late at night. when I am planning my meals, I was wondering how many calories a day should we eat. my scale has climbed over the last 5 years, not that i was thin, but i went from being 170-180 to almost 280 now and I have to lose weight because my health is getting bad. any advice? i can't do alot of exercises because i also have multiple herniations of my discs in my spine, so i'm going to do walking, anyone else with back problems?
I could really use some help here.
Thanks,

Welcome aboard. and congrats on the decision on a healthy lifestyle.
Walking is a perfect way to excercise. As for the calories, a hover around 1500 calories. Make sure you don't lower your calories drastically cuz your body might go in starvation mode and it would be harder to lose the weight.
Good luck
