Down 52lbs...still have 59 to go

Hello,
I stumbled across these message boards yesterday and figured I would share my story as well as get some more motivation from all of you. On June 1, 2004 I quit my 2 pack a day smoking habit....and gained a bit of weight...I think I gained about 23lbs hitting an all time high of 256...and I'm 5'5". So, on July 12th, my 33rd birthday, I started on my diet. From July until December 8th, I lost 60lbs. I weight was falling off. I was using slim fast and working out at a gym. I totally loved it. On December 8th, due to a weight loss that was way too quick, I had a terrible gallbladder attack in the locker room at the gym. It took a while, but on Jan 17th I had it removed. I started back at the gym about 4 weeks later and didn't lose much weight....I had actually gained over the holidays....but I kept going. On April 15th, 2005, I learned that I needed a total hysterectomy. My uterus was the size of 20 weeks pregnant. I knew it was large. As I was losing weight, I could actually feel the top of my uterus by pressing on my tummy! Anyway, May 31st, I had my hysterectomy. Wow, that was tough. But, I am feeling great now. I started back at the gym on July 15th and I am doing great. I am back down to 204 and doing good. Anyway, I have a long ways to go....I would like to meet my weight goal of 145 by my next birthday July 12, 1006. I am looking for support and to give support.
Hugs,
Pam

HI Pam:
Welcome to the board.
Okay.....it's been a while since I last posted. I did weight and measurements today. I can't say that I was very happy about it though. Here's the results:
On 8/01/05:
Weight 204
Waist 43.5"
Hips 45.5"
Bust 49"
On 8/12/05
Weight 204
Waist 44"
Hips 44.5"
Bust 48"
Okay....so, I didn't lost any weight and supposedly gained .5" in my waist. I'm not totally convinced of that....could be gas....lol. But, on a positive note, I did lose a full inch in my hips and bust!! I have such a long way to go....I need to keep doing this for me, my kids and my health.
Well, you have the right idea: Doing it for your health and your kids. But let me tell you one mistake I have made over and over again: Looking at how far I have to go. I have recently found that setting short term goals keeps me focused and less discouraged than if I keep saying "Oh, I have 110 lbs to lose."
You're doing great! Keep up the good work!
WOW pkittsy71, that weight score is great! Keep up the good work!
I got to get back in the saddle again!
