Well just wanted to let you'll know that my older sister has been in town since yesterday. We had a great workout last night (she kicked my butt...hehe) by mixing up cardio, strengthening and toning, and weights into circuits. She is a personal trainer and lives/eats/sleeps fitness...lol :) She herself battled being overweight in highschool and lost over 80lbs her junior year and has kept it off for over 10 years :)

I wanted to share some advice she gave me. She said that you really should be walking atleast 12 miles a week to see weight loss. I expressed to her that I can't stand the treadmill. She said ok, then do half of the miles on the treadmill and half on the elliptical (50 mins of elliptical = 3 miles). She said this will kind of shock my body and if I keep with this and eating right I will see a big difference in as little as two weeks. I know I have seen alot of your entries with this same approach. So I'm going to give it a try.

This morning we went back to the gym to do a step/strengthening aerobic class , 1 hr 15mins. I was pouring sweat and beat red, lol. But, I feel good that I have already worked out for the day.

My goal for next week is to keep better track of what I'm eating....either by the weight watchers point system or keeping a log of cal/fat/carb/sugar intake.

QUESTION: Does anyone know how I can find out a way to calculate how many cal/fat/carb/sugar I should be taking in a day to lose weight.

Sorry, this was so long...alot on my mind. Oh, and forgot to WEIGH today...gggrrrrrr. LOL..guess I will have to wait until Monday.

Hope you'll have a GREAT weekend ;-)

It sounds like if only you could keep your sister in town there you would be no problem losing weight, and she wont judge you because shes gone through it herself. Anyway I read to find out how many calories you should eat multiply your ideal weight by 13. Hope this helps.

Giggles,

Just in case you haven't heard, a great place to keep track of your cals/fat/carbs/protein is fitday.com...it has helped me alot with knowing where I stand...you can also record any activities you do, and set goals for weight loss. :)
