Now there is looking at the signs and symptoms. Please feel free to look at yourself as well.

Compulsive Overeating/Binge Eating Disorder

  1. Fear of not being able to control eating, and while eating, not being able to stop.

  • Food is not a control issue for me. I can walk away, I can feed it to the dog.

I'll do an assessment too cuz the term has been thrown at me in the past few days by Mr. ananymous... (and for the record, i'm not the least bit annoyed or angry at him at all for this)..

1) Fear of not being able to control eating, and while eating, not being able to stop.
>>> I can't stop myself if i'm binging. I keep saying: I shouldn't eat that, but i don't stop unless i finish it off. Avoiding a binge is what i am trying to do.

2) Isolation. Fear of eating around and with others.
>>> Don't care what people think. I don't have a problem with being myself around anyone.

3) Chronic dieting on a variety of popular diet plans.
>>> Never even tried any popular diet plans. I know what i have to do to lose weight. But i do follow advice from my nutrition specialist and have a customer designed meal plan.

4) Holding the belief that life will be better if they can lose weight.
>>> Strongly believe in this. I will feel healthier and look much better. I believe that life is always better when you have more energy. And looking better (and sexier)is always good. But that doesn't mean that i don't live my life to the fullest now. I don't put my life on hold till i lose weight.

5) hiding food in strange places (closets, cabinets, suitcases, under the bed) to eat at a later time.
>>> Nope.

6) Vague or secretive eating patterns.
>>> Vague cuz i'm too lazy and busy to plan anything.

7) Self-defeating statements after food consumption.
>>> I feel bad after i eat something wrong. I don't hate myself for it, but i do feel bad. And i think that's a healthy feeling.

8) Blames failure in social and professional community on weight.
>>> Don't feel i'm a failure in my social/professional life.

9) Holding the belief that food is their only friend.
>>> Nope

10)Frequently out of breath after relatively light activities.
>>> Yes, but if i keep up my excercising, i'll eventually have better breathing.

11) Excessive sweating and shortness of breath.
>>> I sweat easily. Been the case when i was 165, so it's not weight related.

12)High blood pressure and/or cholesterol.
>>> Nope

13) Leg and joint pain.
>>> Nope

14) Weight gain.
>>> No comment here

15) Decreased mobility due to weight gain.
>>> Yes defenetly

16) Loss of sexual desire or promiscuous relations.
>>> Nope

17) Mood swings. Depression. Fatigue.
>>> Yes to fatigue

18) Poor Sleeping Habits
>>> Only because my 16 month old wakes a couple of times for a sip of water during the night. I do hope this heat gets better for my sanity.
