I know several people are going to think to themselves that weight isn't as important as how your clothes feel....I however am a "numbers" first kind of person. I really would love to buy a scale but have had rotton luck with getting an accurate one. I hate to spend so much money without a few good recomendations...

Thank you!!!

Hi,

I use one I bought at Wal-Mart for under $40 and I like it. It's a Conair brand but made in conjunction with Weight Watchers. It's digital and goes to tenths of a pound. As for being accurate, it's great up to 320 lbs. It has always been right in line with the scale at my doctor's office and the one at curves. I did go off the deep end and get bigger than 320 for a time and it wasn't accurate then. Also, you have to turn it on and then step on it the right way and hold still to get the accurate reading but after the first few times, it becomes second nature.

If I could have any one I wanted I'd probably get one of the upright ones that you slide the counter weight back and forth on because I love the reinforcement I feel when I can slide the weights to the left (showing a loss) to get the needle to balance in the middle.
Ultimately that's what I need, a scale that shows me how I'm doing compared to my own previous weights.

HTH,
M.

I don't. I have spent so much money on scales the last few years and have yet to find an accurate one. I prefer to use the one at the gym or my weight watchers meetings. That way I know that numbers aren't changing because someone moved it or I am standing the wrong way. I do have a cheap one I use daily at home, but I don't put much faith in it.

My advice it to get one with a lithium battery - I've had digital scales that take a 9-volt battery - the kind where you have to push a button on the side. I don't know how many times someone has stepped on and broken a button off! Plus, if the battery compartment gets wet (not unheard of on our bathroom floor, LOL) it is pretty much fried. My current one has a built-in lithium battery that has no button, and never needs changing (supposed to last at least 10 years). The case is sealed, so it is essentially water proof. I've had it for 4 years, and it has worked perfectly and is very accurate.
