I wanted to be more active here at this board but I swear I can't get it together.
I had a really bad asthma attack 10 days ago and am having trouble bouncing back. I now have a bacterial respiratory infection and all that goes with it...
My DS2 has been sick with what we were told was just a cold virus. He's had a really high fever, chills, sore throat etc since last Saturday. Wednesday afternoon when he was worse, had what I thought was thrush (he's refusing to nurse cause it 'hurts to bad')and his fever was 103.5, I took him back in. Now they say it's hand, foot and mouth virus. Today he has blisters on his hands and more inside his mouth. He's unable to eat, drink or sleep and I can't put him down even to go to the bathroom. Last night he was so desperate that he did try to drink a milkshake and nurse but I don't think he got more than a couple ounces. He won't take popsicles either so basically I can't help him.
Needless to say that I haven't been to curves at all the past two weeks. I'm exhausted from my own illness and feel so helpless and further exhausted because I can't do anything but cuddle the baby. Nothing makes him feel better and the most he sleeps is about 20 minutes here or there before he wakes up wimpering or all out screaming and digging at his mouth.
I've been eating on the sly so he doesn't have to see me eat when he can't and to be honest it's not been good/healthy food.
I guess I don't really have a point other than I'm feeling like the muscles I had been toning are going back to flab and I'm not eating right and we're sick and exhausted. I have not one fresh fruit or vegetable in the house and really can't get out to the store etc...

Sounds like if your Doctor can't help him them you need to take him to a hospital. Poor little thing. Take care, hope he gets better.

I am so sorry to hear that about your son. You should be careful because hand foot and mouth disease is very contagious. Even though the sores go away in about 7-10 days the disease can still be present in his feces. I would give him Motrin or something with Ibuprofin in it instead of tylenol because it tends to take the fever down a little faster and you usually have to give it less often which might help if he doesn't want to swallow anything. I hope this help. Stick in there. It is so hard when they hurt and you can't do anything for them.

You can buy infants motrin and other brands like Infants Advil and generic brands of Infand Ibuprofin.
