What time do you exercise and why?
| Tue, 08-30-2005 - 9:33am |
I started exercising at around 6:30 after work and before dinner, but by the time I finish and shower, its almost 8:00 and I feel like my night is almost over and I've barely had a chance to relax. This morning I tried doing it in the morning and waking up an hour early. I don't really feel like I had as much energy but I am happy that its over with for the day. I was looking around online to see what the best time was, but I found conflicting answers. I found that overall, the best time is around 5:00 or 6:00 PM since the muscles respond best at that time. I also read that the morning is good because it jump starts the body into burning calories earlier than it would. I guess as long as I do it, it’s a good thing. Any insight?

Well, I have heard that mornings are the best. But, I am in no way shape or form a morning person (not cranky, but very quiet). It's a challenge just to get up every morning, lol. So, I workout after work (between 5-8 pm) it depends on what time I get off of work.
I understand the feeling of not having an evening left. I go to work then to the gym then home and cook dinner then take a shower and then its time for bed.....its like a never ending cylce (I'm like a hamster in the wheel) LOL.
You should workout when it best fits your schedule. As mentioned before it is good to have a set time though.

Ok I sooo need to vent on this one..
Finding a time to excercise SUCKS!!
I can never excercise in the morning. I like the mornings, but can't fit anytime to excercise. If I want to get some early excercise I'll have to wake up an hour early (around 5:30) and that is impossible for me cuz I go to bed around 12-1 am.
I can't excercise at work (don't have a lunch break).
I can't excercise when I get back from work cuz I am afraid if I start working on the bike Mark will get near me and be injured. So I have to wait till he goes to sleep.
Then the only time left for me is late evening around 10-11 pm which really sucks cuz if I'm tired, I usually skip it.
Thanks for letting me vent..

Is Mark your kid?
Yes Shawna, Mark is my son. But he is only 17 months old, so we can't go walking together. And I tried the stroller. It worked for 2 days, then he wants to go up and PUSH the stroller. Walking with him is fun, but not excercise.
I know that a lot of people lose without excercise, but I also know that if I don't get some excercise my weight loss will slow down and I'll hit another plateau (that's from experience). Anyways, I did excercise once this week. Maybe I can fit in another session.

I work out in the mornings, 1/2 hour to 45 minutes five days a week.
