Has anyone read the book "Runaway Eating"? It applies to those of us who binge, binge/purge, or are anorexic. And also to those of us who are not life-long disordered, but who sometimes behave these negative ways. I'm reading it now, and even though I probably qualify for therapy along with the concepts in the book, I'm trying to go it on my own.
It seems to make a lot of sense for me, although I'm only in the initial reading of the book. You throw away "diets" of anykind, even WW, and you try to get through various thoughts and moods.

Glad you are enjoying the book!
Hello!
Just de-lurking to invite you to pop by the anti-diet message board. I think you may find a lot of support, advice, and information on losing weight without dieting. We work to free ourselves from the diet/binge cycle, to stop depriving ourselves, and to have a more natural relationship with food. It involves a lot of reflection on our thoughts and feelings about food and our bodies, and ourselves in general. We learn to work through our emotions instead of trying to numb them with food.
If the book you are reading now is making sense to you, you should stop by and see what we're all about.

Hope to see you there, and anyone else who is curious about the AD approach to weight loss!
