Congrats on losing so much already! As much as I am struggling to lose weight (I'm now at 282 and want to lose 130), I have to admit that having the loose skin thing is something that I have been afraid of. I've been large for more than twenty years and now that my skin has been "conditioned" to all this stretching, I'm worried about what it will look like if/when I reach my goal.
Is surgery an option for you? I've seen some shows lately about folks who have lost a lot of weight, but also wind up with the "wings" afterwards. Those folks have a lot of guts to go on National TV to show the world their wings, but the results are great afterwards and it has enlightened me that there are solutions if they can be afforded. One thing that they all do mention is that the faster you lose the weight, the less chance your skin has to catch up and retract with the rest of your body. Are you exercizing too? That's an area where I'm trying to step it up a notch just in case. Whatever you choose to do, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your progress.
Best of luck to you!
I read on another board somewhere that people avoided all the hanging skin by loosing only a pound or 2 a week and by drinking alot of water. I guess it helps to keep your skin elastic or something. I am uping the water intake to prevent the wings.

I just got up and got yet another glass of water.
As I sit here dissapointed that I only lasted ten minutes on the treadmill today, I'm guessing that the reason why the water helps the "wings" issue is because it's like a little work-out for your arms doing all of that opening and closing of the bathroom door, and all that flushing of the toilet. Hey, whatever works, I'm in!
P.S. Congrats on the three pounds!
Hey at least you are on the treadmill.... the only exercise I get is my housework and thats not much. Keep with it. I cant wait till my mom gives me her treadmill next month. I plan to us it as often as my body will let me.

Surgery no way Im a big baby.. I dont even know how I manged to give birth lol.. I have been losing it slow it averages out to a little under 2 pounds a week and been drinking my water.. I guess when ur an oldie like me the poor skin just wont slap back..
As far as exercising I cant do much do to a previous war injury.. A car fell on my husband and i had to politely move it off him there for pulling all my upper muscles.. So Im going to try to see if i can hand 2 pound weights and work with them.. I tried
WOW! You're a hero(ne?) and a guardian angel! No wonder you have wings!
Well Sweetie after all of that, whether you wings stay or go you are still a beautiful person! Keep up the good work, and I only hope to get to the "lost 80 lb.s" point as you have.
Congrats!
I also heard that skin may take a while to "catch up". Someone was investigating surgery for the "wings" and she was advised to wait for 6 - 12 months first and see if the skin will bounce back on its own. She was also advised to do some muscle toning exercise.
And congrats on the 80lbs. I bet wings feel quite secondary to feeling healthier right?
