I am curious what everyones goals are to losing weight? Not your weight goal.. but like why you are losing weight and what size you want to be in clothing wise. Ya know you could want to be 155lbs and be 4'11" or 155lbs and 6'.
Also curious what area everyone is in?
I want to lose weight for health, to look good in clothes again.. etc. I want to be like size 16/18. I loved that size. Honestly because I know the weight won't come off the way it went on I figure I'll drop some extra weight/sizes and then let myself gain a little after.
I like extra meat on my things/butt.. I don't mind a little extra on my belly .. just not the HANGING down fat! I don't mind the little "kangaroo pouch" I use to have.
I live in the Seattle, WA area. I am from Orlando, Fl. Move here at 16.

I know the frustration of not being able to buy jeans at regular stores...i am there too...but honey...you have come too far to throw in the towel now...dont do it...keep on keeping on.
A few pages back you all were talking about the hanging belly...well i got down to 193 and still had it. I had it before kids and i have it after kids. It was SO frustrating to lose the weight and still look hideous and subhuman naked (that is just my take on my hanging belly) especially when i watched my sister lose less weight than me and be able to wear an Old navy low riders size 14...very frustrating and that is where i made my BIG mistake and threw in the towel...i just gave up and now i have gained almost ALL of it back. I am just heart broken about having to do this all over again, but i have decided this time...when i get that thin...i am rewarding myself with a tummy tuck. There is no way you can lose 150 pounds and not have sagging skin...especially after what my belly has been through with surgeries, heavy babies, etc. So i just have my eye on the prize at the end of the rainbow and instead of a pot of gold...i want a flat tummy via TUCK.

Tammy I was diagnosed w/degenerate disc disease also, they diagnosed if a few years ago, but I have gotten a lot worse, I have trouble with excercising. I can't walk but a block w/o being in excruciating pain and lifting weights or whatever is a definite can't do, so I am on a mission to try to find some kind of excercise I can do w/o causing too much strain on my back. I also was diagnosed with diabetes type II earlier this year. I really need to start my medicine, but I am bad with pills. I was given the suggestion of water arobics or something because that kind of thing would be less stressful on my back, and I have also thought about light arobics or something.
I have trouble with the motivation too, since our problems are so similar maybe we can be of extra help to each other, plus I notice that all the people on the board are super nice and very supportive so I think this board is a good thing.
My cousin has 7 kids and she has lost like 60 pounds in the past few years, luckily her oldest daughter is 20 so she will make a quick meal for the little ones. My cousin has spectacular self control though, b/c she can cook a good meal and not eat any of it, I don't know how she does it, I have much respect for her.
Good luck on your weight loss treasure hunt :o)

mine are 11 (he will be 12 on halloween) 10, 9, 7, 4, 1, and my baby is almost 3 months already!! I spend more time in the laundry room than the kitchen!! Who knew kids had to change 3 or more times a day :( They are almost as bad as their dad.

With the ever growing population, the amount of thrown away goods increases daily. Why not give that unwanted item to someone who may be able to use it? We've all got things lying around we just don't use. That's where Freecycle comes in.
My 3 girls are old enough that they help with the laundry now.
