Hello all,
I am new, the past 5 years I have let myself balloon and do not know how, but I need support in losing it. I have began to work out (swimming 4x) a week, and parking futher away, not eating after 8PM, drinking more water, and trying my best not to snack while at work ( I am a teacher.)
Looking forward to making new friends and getting this weight off, any suggestions are welcome with open arms.
Becca

I'm a teacher too! Welcome! I'm relatively new here, too, but I like it, from what I've seen thus far. I bagan dieting on August 17th, and hope to be where I want to be around June of next year. I go to Curves, and I bike, too. I eat after 8 pm, though, because my doc says it's okay, as long as it's high in protein (helps you sleep, too).

Hello,

I am relatively new here too. My plan, like yours, is to be at a good weight around June of next year. I have 80 pounds to go until i am happy but 132 til my ULTIMATE goal weight. I lost 100 pounds before and then slowly gained it back...the secrets that i used the first time worked GREAT so i am just doing the same thing this time.

1. I only eat high protien/high fiber foods, not really low carbs...just keep my blood sugar from spiking, although i am not diabetic...i find this helps me stay full AND keeps me from craving those sweets that i love so much.

2. I dont eat after 6 pm or after dinner in other words.

3. I do some type of exercise everyday, pilates, yard work, walk the dog, something.

4. I try to keep my cals between 1200-1600 a day but ONE day a week, fridays, i splurge...not really binge but eat like i do when i am not dieting. Biscuit and gravy for breakfast, fast food lunch...that kind of thing...but ONLY once a week. I find that when i have the splurge to look forward to i can usually ward off temptation by telling myself...i can have that friday...i just have to wait until friday. THen i dont feel deprived either.

5'10" was 295 now 277-(ultimate goal 145)

Is that a little low for 5'10?" I'm 5'9" and the chart for me said between 145 and 160. Where did you find this goal weight? So many places vary that I never know which one to listen to. I'd love to be 145, but some accounts I've heard in which people lost lots of weight, they couldn't get down as far as they wanted to go because of skin weight (which doesn't make sense to me, but oh well).

Do you have any goals in mind? Well, other than losing, of course. Like, do you want to have more muscle mass? Do you want to be a certian size? Are you just in need of a better lifestyle because of something medical you are afraid of developing? Oh, I'm asking way too much here lol! Sorry! Just curious. ;-)

Hey becca,

I think weight watchers recommend at my height (5'10") that i weigh between 175-150 but i dont want to be one of those girls that are still big even though they dont have a belly...kind of like the "plus size models"...not that anything is wrong with that look...obviously i would rather have that than what i have now BUT...it would just be nice to look "small"...not the dreaded "BIG BONED" that i always get labeled, although i dont think i actually have big bones, but with this height i think people always assume i do. Katie Holmes (dating tom cruise) is my height and she just doesnt look 150-175 so i would like for my body to have her shape, dainty and feminine even at 5' 10", with this height i just feel like a amazon woman or something, although i think most of that is in my head, ha ha. So i was thinking 145 would be thin but not too thin.

My main focus for losing weight other than just having more confidence is that there is a strong family history of heart disease and diabetes....NO THANKS...i am in the medical feild and i see what diabetes does to a person that does not take care of themselves and i dont want any part of that. Blindness and leg amputations scare me and i see it everyday.

ALso i want to set a good healthy lifestyle example for my kids which unfortunately are following in my footsteps of being over weight. I hate to be the "fat family". ha ha.

But overall, i just feel better when i am thinner, not so much like a human blob. Feeling better already after only 18 pounds.

Hey Stacy,

Sorry, my message was for you AND Becca. My name's Renee. :P

Yeah, I see what you mean. I guess I should aim for breaking 150, too. I was just wondering. :)
