Thought I would go ahead and start this early since I need to confess for more than just a weekend or a few days.

Hmmm... Well, I ate 1550 yesterday, but I always eat a little more on the weekends because I'm home. I have the luxury of living alone, so I can control what comes into my house, and what doesn't. So, I don't have any temptations. Man, once I bought some mini rice cakes, though, and it was hard not eating the whole damn bag. I don't buy those anymore. :)

Everyone is telling me, though, I should have a free meal on Friday, Saturday, or any other day of my choice, but I don't know if that is really encouraging good eating habits. I think you should eat what you want, as long as you watch the calories. So, if you do that, maybe you don't need confessionals!

Unless you can't just eat one. Damn rice cakes!

Well I used to call those little meals "cheating" and someone corrected me a while back and said to stop calling it cheating.

I called in sick yesterday because my sugar was so low (I am diabetic). I think I accidently took the wrong insulin Friday night. I take 10units of one insulin with every meal and then 20units of another, slower/longer working insulin at bedtime. I think I took an extra 20units of my fast acting insulin instead of the slow one. It wouldn't be the first time. Then my SO took off to help our friend move and I stayed home with the baby. We ate whatever we wanted. I guess part of me figured it was ok because my sugar was still low. I know better though. Even though my sugar is low doesn't give me an excuse to just eat whatever!! Thankfully we don't have "junk" food in our house. I had some candy that we shared and I ate cereal for breakfast- 2xs the amount I should have. Other than that it was just normal meals. If we had a bunch of junk food in our house I think I would have gone crazy.

I have also been craving APPLES!!! Even though they are "good for you" they are FULL of sugar. I have been eating like 3 apples at a time. Which is WAY more carbs then I should be eating. Its hard to manage the whole diabetes thing while having pregnancy cravings. Weird as it is .. during my last pregnancy my craving was for "double whoopers with cheese no onions". That was it! No fries or anything. It worked great. It fit within my carb limit and it filled me up. With the apples it takes like 3 apples to fill me up which is WAY to many carbs. One apple would be good but then I'm still craving apple. I tried apple sauce the other day .. that didn't work!!!

Its so weird. I also went to the gym ONE night last week. I worked late. This week I work earlier hours so hopefully I can actually find myself at the gym working out!!!

I always stray a little bit on the weekends. Dh likes a big southern breakfast on the weekends...very hard for me to eat just ONE biscuit and gravy...but i did...so even though i would have been better off with oatmeal...i am certainly a lot better off eating one biscuit than 3, like i wanted. Then dh is a wanna-be chef...so on sunday nights he always makes a fabulous italian dinner...but i did well and made really healthy side dishes to go with that yummy chicken saltembocca...so not really any guilt on that one. But i am back on track today, had my Kashi Oatmeal for breakfast, that is a good start for the day.

I must confess.. I really blew it this weekend... Friday we had a big ole Lasagna. not the veggie kind either, Im talking lots of burger with sweet italian sausage...I and didnt have just one peice either,, then yesterday we had a roast gravy and mashed potatoes with biscuits,,, Which could explain my 2 pound gain this week. Well today is a new day and I will do better..
