Most of us are watching our calories, carbs or something.

I try to be VERY accurate. If i dont write down EVERY morsel that goes in my mouth i WAY under estimate my cals for the day. I use box labels whenever i can, on oatmeal, butter, etc. But for foods that i cook at home that are not boxed, it is definately an effect to ensure that my calculations are correct. I use Calorieking.com the most, i like that he lets you put in ounces and sizes. That helps a lot. I use a small book too.

I just keep my journal on a Word doc on my computer. I put my weight for the week, pounds lost, total lost, and waist measurement. I only do that part on friday but the rest of the week, i write breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks...everything. And i also keep a log of how that particular food reacted on me...like did i get hungry quickly...did i crave sweets shortly after, was i full for a long time...stuff like that sounds really anal but i have learned ALOT about my eating habits by looking closely at how certain foods effect me afterwards.

I'm doing weight watchers so I go by their point system. I either look it up in the book, or I go by the nutritional info on the box and figure it out myself. I have heard you have to be careful because a lot of companys under and over estimate their info.

Honestly, I don't. I tried but it drove me nuts and became the focus of my entire day, so I've changed my strategy. Now I watch portion size, and focus on WHAT I eat. I don't allow myself "junk", and I eat only whole-grain carbs, but I don't worry about counting grams or calories. And so far it is working! :-)
