I would hope no one got jealous of anything I did that was good for me. I would be afraid to post my triumphs. I need a team of people I can trust to root for me. I've never really encountered problems with weight loss in the past, mostly because I'm a single woman who has the time to make it my primary focus, but a) I'm older now, and don't know what will happen as I reach my goal, b) I've always gained it back in the past, c) I never lost weight before without the help of stimulants and pills, and d) if I don't feel comfortable enough to share my good news, I'll only share my bad, meaning my mind will always be in a dark place when thinking about weight loss. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I would like to enjoy what I have now while it is here, and it would be hard to do so knowing there are people who would be jealous of it.

What I love about this board is the support. I was feeling so horrible when I found out I was 2 pounds shy of 300 -- and I bet I had actually lost a bit before that first number came out, so I could have been even heavier than that. Being here and having people not ashamed to tell me that they, too, weighed as much, and tell how they, too, had felt the same when they had begun their diet regime has really sustained my motivation in a seemingly hopeless and endless situation. There are many times when I feel as though it's still hopeless, especially with my goal being so many pounds away. There are many times I want to just quit and say "it's too much for me to lose, and I'm tired of being tired," but when I come to this board and see everyone else is feeling the same, I am relieved.

Well, that was a mouth full. I hope people continue to cheer each other on, and never wish anything harmful of another because of their efforts. They say women are catty, but if you can't even find comfort and support here, where are you going to find it otherwise? :)

I totally agree with you Renee. By all means keep posting celebrations. I love to see the posts when somebody is celebrating a loss. I'd cheer any fraction of a pound lost and I guess everybody here does the same. It is so motivating and you have proof it is doable.

Do i feel jealous? I voted yes cuz I feel that sometimes. If I am slacking and see others losing, then I tell myself: what's wrong with you? You can do that too. You can be the one celebrating next week. And that's motivation for me. I hope I am not offending anybody with this.

I generally find it motivating - I figure if someone else can do it, there is no reason why I can't!

I said no because I think it's encouraging to see someone else's progress.

Oh no, I'm not offended. I just know there are people out there who would be jerks about someone else's success, and it irritates me. I know women can be the worst at supporting one another. As you're a career woman like myself, you must know what I mean when this comes to the workplace. I guess I deal with it so much at work that when I got home and read your post, I got into it a little too much LOL. :)

Lucky me I work with an all male crew, so no cat fights here. Of course I face another problem: I need to work twice as hard to get half the recognition. fortunately, for women, that's not even trying at all LOL.
