For the first time EVER I feel like I have found someone (lots of someones) that knows exactly what I am going thru! Thank you ladies for replying to my earlier post.

I think that i am going to try just counting calories first. maybe then try to find time to exercise.

how many calories should i stay around? i read an article in a magazine that said you should eat (for example) 1200 monday 1500 tuesday 1500 wednesday 1800 thurs 1600 friday 1200 saturday 1800 Sunday... or something like that to keep metabolism (SP?) going ... anyway just wondering what you ladies are doing?

what are some good snack ideas...?

again thank you for making me feel so welcome!

I haven't heard of that calorie counting WOE...but maybe someone else can shine some light on it tomorrow.

The snacks depend on what different folks are using as a WOE. I am doing my own thing right now. I want to do low fat, low carb...so the type of snacks change. This week I ate 3 ounces of cheese and 6 crackers and some baby carrots...

Now the carrots and crackers turn to sugar (carbs) in your system and that is what makes me gain weight. So I went easy on those...but the calorie count was small...the fat is another thing...I am not sure how many fat grams that 3 oz of cheese had.

I am going to have to do a plan that I can follow so it may be WW or Low Carb, Low Fat we will see.

I vary my calories during the week so that they average out to 1,300. I am not sure if I'm following what's written below, I just do my thing. I am usually lower during weekdays to compensate for the added calories in the weekends.

For snacks I love the following:
Fat free flavored yogurt (around 200 calories)
I always have some kind of vegetable cooked and cut in the fridge (very low in calories)
Cheese is always good but you have to take care of the serving size (1serv=100 calories)
Hot cocoa is great for a chocolate fix (prepare with low fat milk and unsweetened cocoa)
